In the shadows of dragons.

For generations, war and chaos raged across the land of Tyria. Five great races competed and warred against each other, struggling to tip the balance of power in their favor.

Then the dragons woke.

The all-powerful beasts stirred from their millennial sleep under earth and sea. With their magical breath the dragons spread destruction and created legions of twisted slaves. A deathless dragon named Zhaitan raised the sunken nation of Orr, triggering earthquakes and tidal waves that destroyed entire cities across the Sea of Sorrows.

Zhaitan's undead armies surged from the sea, hungry for the destruction of the five races of Tyria: the charr, a ferocious race of feline warriors; the asura, magical inventors of small size and great intellect; the norn, towering shapeshifters from the frigid northern lands; the sylvari, a mysterious young race of visionary plant folk; and the humans, an embattled but resilient people.

Now heroes from the five races must set aside ancient rivalries and stand together against their common enemies.

Magic, technology, and cold steel will determine the ultimate fate of the world.

2 out of 5 eggsRegret Buying

Pros: No subscription required.

Cons: There are not a lot of fun activities you can do besides PVP in this MMO. Absolutely uninteresting questing. Extremely empty worlds and not a lot of people willing to talk.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat game, not enough time to play it

Pros: This game has great art styles and concepts, it really makes the game more colorful and creative in that aspect. It also has a variety of classes, monsters, bosses, etc. plus the game is mostly PVE so you don't have to worry about people coming around to kill you for items or something equivalently important. Also, no subscription fees, that's probably the biggest plus out there.

Cons: This is a game that consumes a lot of time as does any other MMORPG, I am a huge fan of Aion, I play it every day it seems so splitting my time between the two is tough. If you already play an MMO, stick to the one you like more because this game will be very time consuming(but that doesn't mean it's not fun!) You will also probably have to buy expansions for it as you had to do previously with Guild Wars 1.

Other Thoughts: I recommend buying this game when it is on sale or if you have a coupon, at $60 for a PC game it's a bit steep especially since it's been out for a while, but if you're new to MMORPG's this is probably the best place to start since there's no mandatory PVP like in Aion or other games.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful Game

Pros: New content every two weeks. The living world events are great and fun. A lot of dungeons and evens need to be done in a group which is what, in my opinion, a game like this is all about teamwork. The guild mechanics are easy to get use to, and it is very simple to start your own guild or join one if you like.

Cons: I am not going to name launch issues a con no since in this as all online games have launch issues. The only con I can think of is that there are too many people selling gold, but this can be combated by the report button.

Other Thoughts: Being an avid PC gamer I am a big fan, and the fact that it's free to play after buying the game is even better. Great people in game, and their support is awesome. Having played the original Guild Wars series I am very happy with the new installment. I cannot wait to see what Anet comes up with next. Keep up the good work.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible game

Pros: Nice gameplay and player community

Cons: Horrible support and alot of grinding. After you lvl to lvl 80, you are practically required to grind to get the next tier of weapons aka legendary tier. You follow that guideline, you get accused for botting and you lose your account eventually.

Other Thoughts: I cant recommend this game to anyone who plans to play 3+ hours a day. The game and its flawed bot detecting system is horrible and will get you all heated up when you need to deal with support

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great game that will last awhile, well worth the money. Lots to do, new content/events every month.

Cons: Only giving it 4 eggs due to the economy in the game. You either have to spend hours on end farming, or play the trading post all the time.

1 out of 5 eggsGoing downhill fast

Pros: Free to play after you buy the game
The game world is very large

Cons: It now caters to children

Other Thoughts: I used to be a big supporter of this game, but that has since changed. It seems the game is becoming more catered towards children anymore. All of their special events have become a joke. For example the events will have stupid toys as rewards, your weapons become those toy wands, bells, pop guns etc, or for example toy backpacks of a fuzzy kids animal. The event content is always some low resolution instanced mini game.

The game was advertised as being based around live dynamic events. But lately that is no longer true. All events require grouping and are always instanced zone areas. The rewards are so childish, it's embarrassing to play as an adult.

Their official forums also delete most negative posts of the game so you can not trust the posts on there.

5 out of 5 eggs9.5/10 Awesome!

Pros: This is some of the best programed pieces of software ever programed! Graphics are outlandish and beautiful for a game that doesn't have a monthly subscription to play! Lag is rare and thousands upon thousands of people playing at any given time

Cons: There are some things like using skill points on something and being disappointed on the outcome. But its not like they are hard to come by.

Other Thoughts: Very impressed! I did the math. 5 months of wow or this game. Both would cost me the same amount and by far this was the best choice! Areana net , you have a customer for life. Ohh and BTW newegg was awesome as well once again. Had my order in 4 business days, even helped my get a gift certificate from Verizon when they forgot to send it to me.

5 out of 5 eggsCancled WoW indefinitely

Pros: More stuff to do that you can ever imagine. I am buying a second copy for the wife who just cant get enough of this either. Thousands of people ready to play, real world events with no wait ques, $0 subscription fees, non stop updates and some of the BEST graphics on the PC to date.

Cons: Wasn't free, No one sells their account due to its popularity and we had to upgrade to Cable internet to sustain both of us playing at the same time.

Other Thoughts: Quit WoW a few months back. Had over 5k hours on both of our accounts. Got this and we cant stop. This will pay for its self in 4 months of WoW fees.
