In the shadows of dragons.

For generations, war and chaos raged across the land of Tyria. Five great races competed and warred against each other, struggling to tip the balance of power in their favor.

Then the dragons woke.

The all-powerful beasts stirred from their millennial sleep under earth and sea. With their magical breath the dragons spread destruction and created legions of twisted slaves. A deathless dragon named Zhaitan raised the sunken nation of Orr, triggering earthquakes and tidal waves that destroyed entire cities across the Sea of Sorrows.

Zhaitan's undead armies surged from the sea, hungry for the destruction of the five races of Tyria: the charr, a ferocious race of feline warriors; the asura, magical inventors of small size and great intellect; the norn, towering shapeshifters from the frigid northern lands; the sylvari, a mysterious young race of visionary plant folk; and the humans, an embattled but resilient people.

Now heroes from the five races must set aside ancient rivalries and stand together against their common enemies.

Magic, technology, and cold steel will determine the ultimate fate of the world.

It seems the game is becoming more catered towards children anymore. All of their special events have become a joke. For example the events will have stupid toys as rewards, your weapons become those toy wands, bells, pop guns etc, or for example toy backpacks of a fuzzy kids animal. The event content is always some low resolution instanced mini game. The game was advertised as being based around live dynamic events. But lately that is no longer true. All events require grouping and are always instanced zone areas. The rewards are so childish, it's embarrassing to play as an adult. Their official forums also delete most negative posts of the game so you can not trust the posts on there. 1 out of 3 people found this review helpful. Did you? Graphics are outlandish and beautiful for a game that doesn't have a monthly subscription to play! Lag is rare and thousands upon thousands of people playing at any given time Cons: There are some things like using skill points on something and being disappointed on the outcome. But its not like they are hard to come by. Other Thoughts: Very impressed! I did the math. 5 months of wow or this game. Both would cost me the same amount and by far this was the best choice! Areana net , you have a customer for life. Ohh and BTW newegg was awesome as well once again. I am buying a second copy for the wife who just cant get enough of this either. Thousands of people ready to play, real world events with no wait ques, $0 subscription fees, non stop updates and some of the BEST graphics on the PC to date. Cons: Wasn't free, No one sells their account due to its popularity and we had to upgrade to Cable internet to sustain both of us playing at the same time. Other Thoughts: Quit WoW a few months back. Any little quarks that is has are continually fixed and as new of a game as it is, there are very few. There is no monthly subscription which makes the one time charge all that is needed. Most micro transaction games limit your character and make it harder to play but this one does not. The micro transactions just make the game a little more fun, a little more dynamic, and give you a little extra boost. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
