Easy Wi-Fi Setup Using iPhone, iPad, or Mac

Connect your DSL or cable modem to AirPort Express and create your new wireless network in just a few taps from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Or use the built-in AirPort Utility on your Mac. Setup is just as fast and just as easy.

Apple

Simultaneous Dual-Band 802.11n

AirPort Express lets Wi-Fi-enabled devices connect to your network on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless bands. Which means every connected device automatically uses the best band available for the fastest possible performance.

Apple

Stream Music with AirPlay

AirPlay takes the music from the iTunes library on your computer or iOS device and sends it wirelessly to any connected stereo or speakers in your home (audio cable sold separately). Play music on one set of speakers — or if you have more than one AirPort Express connected to speakers, play your music from iTunes on all of them at the same time.

Apple

Print Wirelessly from Any Room

On the back of AirPort Express is a USB port that’s made for your printer. Just plug it in and instantly it’s like having a printer in every room. And since AirPort Express works with Mac and PC, everyone in the house can take advantage of one centrally available printer.

Apple

Compatibility and Security

AirPort Express is compatible with devices using the 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, and 802.11n specifications. So no matter what Wi-Fi device you’re using, it will work with AirPort Express. AirPort Express also features a built-in firewall to protect your network from malicious Internet attacks. The firewall is automatically turned on, so you don’t have to do a thing.

Apple

Create a Guest Network

Set up a separate Wi-Fi network with a separate password just for your guests. Simply enable the guest networking feature, and your guests can access the Internet but not other parts of your primary network, such as your computers, printers, and LAN-attached hard drives.

3 out of 5 eggsGood for the most part

Pros: Great solution to hook up stereo, game console, bluray player that needs network, but isn't WiFi enabled. Also great for putting speakers in another room of the house.

Cons: WILL NOT CONNECT TO HIDDEN WPA2 NETWORK ! I am a network engineer, and have multiple wireless access points. I tested with Cisco IOS, Cisco LWAPP, Linksys, D-link, and latest Apple Airport Time Capsule. This device will not connect to a wireless network running WPA2 Personal (PSK) security with a non-broadcast (hidden) SSID. I had to broadcast the SSID for this device to join.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great as a repeater

Pros: Way to easy to configure. Once I plugged it in, the Airport utility recognized the base station and setup it up as an wireless extender. It recognized all the current settings from the Airport extreme router and has vastly improved my wireless connection in the upper half of my home. Before ipad, laptops, iphones, and wife's nook would constantly drop connection or have a weak to very low signal strength. Now my devices get excellent to good signal strength and don't lose connectivity.

Cons: none at the moment

2 out of 5 eggsDidnt last long

Pros: While it worked, it worked fine.

Cons: It stopped working.

Other Thoughts: Less than 2 months after purchase the item gave up. It would stop working 3 or 4 mins after reset (wired/wireless). I have been hard wired without it for 4 days and have had no problems.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: The default configuration was enough to get the internet running in less than a few minutes. The more advanced settings are incredibly easy to navigate.

Cons: none

4 out of 5 eggsWorks Well

Pros: I bought this for a customer for the guaranteed AirPrint / Bonjour compatibility after having too many problems with non-apple routers and iPad printing.
Ir works well with the iPad and the several PCs and a Mac on the premises.

Cons: Non really except it's overpriced especially given that it has only one LAN port.

5 out of 5 eggsSurprised

Pros: Looks good. Nice build quality. Cables are of good length for full tower case. Pretty quiet. Provides enough clean power for a budget build.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Overall I have been very surprised with this power supply. It's the first thing I have bought from this brand. I'm so happy I may buy from them again if given the chance.

5 out of 5 eggsRe: Poor Audio Performance

Pros: An amendment to my previous review- it seems that the 5GHz wireless band is very susceptible to RF interference, which feels like the cause of the dropout issues I was having with the audio. I now have my laptop set up to use the Internet via 5GHz and stream audio to the Airport Express via 2.4GHz. Everything seems better, fingers crossed.

Cons: None as of now.

3 out of 5 eggsPoor audio streaming. Good otherwise.

Pros: Works great for allowing me to wirelessly share my printer and give Internet access to my non-WiFi PS3.

Cons: Audio streaming barely works. Constant dropouts and skipping. Tried changing the wireless channel, moving it to a different spot in the room, everything. Very disappointed in the audio capabilities.

4 out of 5 eggsAddendum to my previous post

Pros: Still working ok.

Cons: As an addendum to my previous post, does NOT have gigabit ethernet. I was looking at the new main Airport base station, the Express still doesn't have it despite having an ethernet-in now. You wouldn't think it would make much of a difference, but my main ABS with gb is faster, despite being an older model. This is about the same speed as my old AE that I gave to someone, was hoping for a bit of an upgrade but I guess not. For someone who has 1 connected computer while everything else is wifi, this would have been a great option otherwise. Especially if you're using the old Airport Utility. I was able to get 5.6.1 working on Mountain Lion, much better than 6.1, which as noted it not great.

Other Thoughts: I wish Newegg would let me edit or delete my previous review, but if not I hope this gets through with the corrected information.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Wireless AP

Pros: Easy Configuration, Great Range, The Print Server works great with Macs. I have use the device as a Wireless AP with a Linksys RV042 router and works flawless. No dropouts i have a lot of win computers, macs, iphone, ipad and apple tv and some time i've connected more than 3 devices at the same time.

Cons: AirPrint not enabled, Print throw Bonjour print service in Windows instead drivers or port sharing from windows.

Other Thoughts: Takes up very little space which makes it very convenient for home networks
