5 out of 5 eggsJust Works

Pros: Works out of the Box with Windows 7

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I use this for an Axia workstation and I find that Audio over IP is problematic with cheap network cards. I have started using Intel Pro Server cards and it just works....couldn't ask for more.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Won't make your connection faster presay. It will give you better reaction times and give to the most of what's available that your internet service has to provide. Handles large amounts of bandwidth easily assuming the user has it to push through it. currently I get 450 mbps but I think I can get more if I get a better router. Now this is obviously internal network speed from one machine to another. Currently I have a Linksys e4200 v1 which I'll replace soon for a business class device.

Cons: what cons?

Other Thoughts: This will NOT make your internet service from your provider faster at all. However, if your looking for better response times and get all the bandwidth that is allotted for the rated service your ISP is providing it will do that very well. However this is also assuming that the router is very good and the modem is getting good signal. This will not stop service dropouts related to the internet provider but will solve an issue with dropouts related to a failing or junky NIC card.

Although this card can simply be plugged in without installing driver and will on a default generic Intel driver provided by Windows 7 the performance will suffer greatly so be sure to download the latest driver for this device.

4 out of 5 eggsGood product

Pros: Excellent card, works really well in my Dell file server.

Cons: Do you think that an 83 dollar board would come with a driver CD?

Other Thoughts: Easy enough to find on Intel's website but it took another computer, downloading onto a memory stick, and the installing on server. Time I would rather spend on other things.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Quality

Pros: Simple solid Intel design and performance. THE low end server NIC!

Cons: Had to download drivers. It's a review, I had to complain about something.

Other Thoughts: Holding the card in your hands the quality is obvious. A breath of fresh air in a sea of low-quality add-on cards.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: Since switching from a Netgear GA311 (which have always served me well), this Intel gives me nearly twice the transfer rate I was getting with the Netgear.

Cons: Costs more than twice as much as the Netgear GA311, but it is worth it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value and performance!

Pros: This thing is able to saturate a gigabit link to over 110MB/s! My previous NICs in the same server maxed out at 70 MB/s. (Realtek and Marvell cheapos).

Lower CPU utilization as well!

Cons: Adds a few watts to my low power build, but worth it!
