5 out of 5 eggsExcellent enterprise-grade NICs

Pros: Recognized by most O/S out of the box
High-throughput
WOL support
Full and half PCIe form-factor
4-in-1 - convenient!

Cons: Expensive
WOL only supported on Port 1

Other Thoughts: Wonderful product - see the pros and cons. I am using this for vSphere 5 (with Update 2) and it was recognized and installed immediately out-of-the-box

5 out of 5 eggsTeams well with Server 2012

Pros: 4 gigabit ports, low profile.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Using this in a Server 2012 Hyper V setup. Had two nics onboard so was able to create 3 2Gb teams for virtual nic's with excellent preformance.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for ESXi 5

Pros: Excellent NIC for vSphere 5 hosts. Built two systems as follows with no issues whatsoever:
https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.aspx?ID=20425826
NICs were recognized by VMKernel with no additional drivers or messing around.

Cons: A little pricey, but you get what you pay for in this case!

Other Thoughts: Would definitely purchase again; recommended!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for my odd situation

Pros: Performance
It came with the low profile bracket
I was able to make it work the way i needed

Cons: A little on the pricey side. Some will ask why i didn't just buy a router but the end product is worth it.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for my htpc. My plan:

Modem/router plugged into my wrt54g for wifi
Another port on the modem to my HTPC's onboard lan
Plug ports from this into lan devices and keep internet.

I was able to use internet connection sharring. I made a bridge with all of this nics ports selected and then i shared the internet from my onboard nic to all 4 of these. This means full 1gbps to my nas, EEE/torrent machine and my seed box. This allowed faster file transfers and made media sharing awesome.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: This is a great bit of kit. The NICs weren't picked up by Win2008R2 by default, but there was a driver if you searched for it. I am able to completely max out all four ports on the card at the same time.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsE1G44HTBLK

Pros: Runs LAGG well, bonds with LAGG over all 4 ports, and also across other compatible Intel network ports such as motherboard nics and other E1G44HT cards. Runs decently cool, dedicated controllers for each nic, and comes with low-profile bracket.

Cons: Slightly more expensive than the exact same card, E1G44HT.

Other Thoughts: Buying 6 more, this time I'm buying the E1G44HT instead since it is the exact same thing for less.

5 out of 5 eggsWorked Perfectly

Pros: Worked in SuperMicro chassis/motherboard with only PCIe 1.0 slot - was nervous it would not. Also worked with ESXi 4.1u1 with driver updates

Cons: ESXi driver updates are a pain - requires vCLI, but once its done its done.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as expected

Pros: Intel software was a breeze, setup dynamic AD trunking. Awsome...I get 450MB's through the pipe.
Perfect for the small rendering farm.

Cons: Pricey...Seems like a $200 product not 400...

4 out of 5 eggsLook, ma - no PCIE bridge

Pros: - No PCIE bridge. The single die provides 4 interfaces directly, instead of providing the interfaces through an additional PCIE device. This approach saves on resources and interrupts.
- A great card for virtualization.

Cons: - Less features than other cards (namely cards based on 82576, etc.)

Fast, latest gen Intel card. Good price for what you get. Doesn't appear to get that hot.
