1 out of 5 eggsNot the Intel SFP+ SRs I've gotten before - May be impossible to remove without breaking

Pros: They work, if you can get them inserted.

I've worked with plenty of SFP+ modules in the past. These are definitely hard to insert.

Cons: These are *not* the same mechanical design as Intel has used in the past.

These have a plastic bail rather than a metal bail - and that bail is not sufficiently strong; it breaks when trying to remove the module from the slot on the NIC.

These are extremely difficult to get into the SFP+ slot - One has to squeeze the sides with needlenose pliers to get them to seat.

Getting them back out is nearly impossible - the plastic wire bale that one normally uses to pull them out breaks off. I had to grap it with pliers and pry with a screwdriver to get it loose. In previous models that bail was metal and was much stronger.

The part number on the physical module is AFBR-703SDZ-IN2

(The part number on good, older ones is FTLX8571D3BCV-IT)

I've worked with plenty of SFP+ modules in the past. These are definitely exceptionally hard to remove without causing damage.

5 out of 5 eggsworks as expected

Pros: Works as expected. Same as Dell OEM part.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Works fine. Exactly what was pictured. Compatible with intel x520 and Dell R720 server for 10gig over fibre.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes it's thing!

Pros: Plug and play, JustWorks(TM) with my Intel X520-2 10 Gbit adapter.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: It's kind of lame that I had to buy this thing instead of much cheaper Finistar modules because the Intel Windows drivers refuse to use anything other than Intel optics for fibre. Linux & FreeBSD drivers let you skip this "protection".
