3 out of 5 eggsLast 6 months

This review is from: Actiontec PWR200K01 AV200 Powerline Kit Up to 200Mbps

Pros: Works perfect out of the box. Extremely easy set up, just plug in and done. Low power consumption, pretty good speed.
Warranty is breeze, both sets have been exchanged without any problems with customer service, the replacements were a even better model with no extra cost but the shipping of the defective set (around 6.50 Priority)

Cons: They die at around 4 to 8 months of use, purchased 2 sets of these and both sets have died, just 1 of the adapters died on both sets, and in both cases was the sender adapter (the one connected to the router).

Other Thoughts: If you need them for constant use, might as well buy a different model.
Customer Service is rock solid and you will get covered if anything goes wrong with your set, so I will not say avoid this brand.

2 out of 5 eggsCheap, but no longevity.

This review is from: Actiontec PWR200K01 AV200 Powerline Kit Up to 200Mbps

Pros: Cheap... It works, for a while.

Cons: Typical failure mode is a 1000uf 63V electrolytic capacitor that dies after the warranty period.

3 out of 5 eggsAwesome when they worked

This review is from: Actiontec PWR200K01 AV200 Powerline Kit Up to 200Mbps

Pros: Things worked great, even connected in a very old house from the basement to the router in the living room upstairs. Speed was awesome. Easy as plug in and play.

Cons: One of them died after about 6 months. Not sure why, it just stopped working. Bad things happen and it wasn't expensive enough that I could really complain but it was enough that I can't give it 5 stars.

Other Thoughts: Will buy again...

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

This review is from: Actiontec PWR200K01 AV200 Powerline Kit Up to 200Mbps

Pros: Very simple to use. Plug everything in and it links automatically. Without fail, it just works.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Used this for my PS3, I was getting 3.5 mbps on wifi to my NAS. The videos I play need to stream around 4 mbps. With this item I get around 15 mbps, all this using the PS3 speed tester.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

This review is from: Actiontec PWR200K01 AV200 Powerline Kit Up to 200Mbps

Pros: I was skeptical but this device does exactly what it is supposed to do. I simply plugged it in to the router and power outlet and the other one into a computer and power outlet in another room. It connected immediately. I haven't measured the speed but it is noticeably faster than the 10mbps I was getting from wifi.

Cons: The only negative is that it was turning on two touch lamps I have in the room with the computer. They kept switching on and off, starting right after I established the connection. I plugged it into a power strip (which the manufacturer says may keep it from working) and the problem with the lights was gone. It continues to work as a network connection.

Other Thoughts: I'm pleasantly surprised at how simple and easy the setup is. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsFunctions as advertised

This review is from: Actiontec PWR200K01 AV200 Powerline Kit Up to 200Mbps

Pros: Easy setup, no issues with connections.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: My internet connection is approx. 20MBS, and that's what my Blu-ray player reports when streaming movies. I have not verified the top speed of the connection, but it's getting what I have available to my Blu-ray, so I'm happy with it.

5 out of 5 eggsWorked right out of the box

This review is from: Actiontec PWR200K01 AV200 Powerline Kit Up to 200Mbps

Pros: No hassle connection, worked right out of the box, signal strength couldn't be better, used to get 7 Mbps wirelessly on that room, now almost same speed as it was connected to the modem directly. Hooked up an old router to the end of this powerline and used the router as a repeater (wireless bridge/extender).

Cons: None so far, will see how long do they last.

Other Thoughts: Very easy setup, I didn't even need to press the connecting buttons, just plugged to the power and they connected each other immediately, been working non stop for a week without dropping the signal.
