5 out of 5 eggsUpdate to my previous post

Pros: Update: This supports jumbo frames up to 6000

If you want 9000, you need Realtek 8111D (this one is 8111C)

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Would buy again!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat network card!

Pros: Love it: Has 802.3x (full duplex)

Dual ports

Works out of the box on Linux CentOS 6.2 OS

Purchased 4 of these for a firewall / router linux box build.

Seems fast and responsive but I have not been testing them long and not at full speed [yet].

All 4 cards seem 100% stable and working [I did a quick test on each port]! :)

The price for these is definitely reasonable, especially for a dual cards with 802.3x (full duplex gigabit)! For those who are not familiar, full duplex gigabit actually gives you a total of 2000 mbits, 1000 Mbits one way, and 1000 Mbits the other way. So you can download and upload at full gigabit each way [depending on your network and other hardware capabilities]!

Jumbo frames = win for local file transport [depending on local hardware]

Cons: Each PORT adds 2 - 3 second delay to boot time (even when the boot rom is 'disabled'). I have to wait at least 16 seconds for all 8 of the ports to initialize [4 cards X 2 ports each].

Other Thoughts: I would definitely buy these again!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Easy install and it works with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I bought this to eventually combine the 2 ports into 1 for more bandwidth on a streaming server.

4 out of 5 eggsThey work

Pros: Cheap and bridgable within windows 7.

Cons: Consume a bit of processing power especially when bridged for 220MB's throughput. But then again, this is no INTEL server card either.

Other Thoughts: Next time I will make sure all future motherboards come with dual nic's with same chipset.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks like a champ

Pros: Easy install- instantly recognized by Ubuntu Linux 10.04

Cons: Did not work in Ubuntu 9.x - drivers needed to be installed, but no biggie.

Other Thoughts: Perfect for Linux-based routing distros. Runs like a champ in Zentyal.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Well for x1

Pros: PCIE x1 (2Gb each direction), Cheap(er), NIC ROM works

Cons: Cost more than some two port motherboards, no NIC LED pins

Other Thoughts: I expect it to last very long given the price. If it doesn't...
