5 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Bought two of these cards to make a router computer. Plugged them in and my software had no problem finding the cards and getting them working. Been running 24/7 since September 07 without a problem.

Cons: They don't serve coffee in the morning? Actually not a thing.

Other Thoughts: I'll probably order more of these cards as I bring my network fully up to gigabit.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: Running full speed in my network.

Cons: It didn't hop in my computer and install itself.

Other Thoughts: My home modem doesn't support 1000Mbps =[. Oh well, only useful for my network for transferring those wonderful large files.

5 out of 5 eggs10/100/1000

Pros: Easy to set up [XP/Vista, Ubuntu]
Fast

Cons: Included drives *suck* [why did I even try?] go to realtek's website and download their drivers for gigabit ethernet cards and it will work very well. i have not had a problem since i installed them.

Other Thoughts: easy fix on drivers problem, fast card, great shipping and price by newegg

1 out of 5 eggsD.O.A.

Pros: Price.

Cons: D.O.A. pc could not find it when i booted it up. Tried a different PCI slot, same thing. Used install/driver disk, nada.
Device manager could not see it. Downloaded new drivers from company website, zippo. Woke up computer expert friend at 1am..that just mad him even madder when he could not figure it out.

Other Thoughts: Spend $5 more and get a better card..trust me.

2 out of 5 eggsWorks. "Sometimes"

Pros: Great, When It Works!

Cons: I installed this card in my Nephews system; it worked for a couple of weeks, then lost the driver configuration. I decided to give it a try in another system, and the same thing happened. Even when I downloaded and installed the drivers from their website, the card will just stop working outta the blue.

Other Thoughts: Works intermittently.
Drivers On Floppy. LAME!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works great in Linux, using it as a second NIC in my gateway(ubuntu 7.04) Worked out of box.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Drivers came on a floppy, which would have been somewhat of a problem if I had needed to use them, since I don't have anything that will read floppies. They have drivers on the manufacturer site too though.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great in Linux

Pros: Works great in Linux. The r8169 chipset is VERY well supported by most kernels. Cheap.

Cons: No offloading, and floods the PCI bus. Getting throughput below what high-end gigabit gets, but at 1/10th the price. Autonegotiation a bit flaky sometimes - known good cable sometimes gets 10/100Mbps on boot. 'mii-tool -r' fixes.

Other Thoughts: Newegg delivers.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Gigabit Adapter!

Pros: Great speed and the driver that was provided worked with Windows XP on the first try.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: The adapter is actually a Realtek RTL8169/8100 Family Gigabit Ethernet Adapter which doesn't really matter at all. The card works great and that is what matters in the end.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as expected

Pros: Using this card under Ubuntu 7.04. The card was properly detected and worked without perfectly out of the box. Connected at GigE speeds to my switch with no problems

Cons: none. Newegg really has stop with the packing peanuts. They're all over my house!

Other Thoughts: Had no problems whatsoever with the card. Just took out my old card and put this one in.
