4 out of 5 eggsbrings wireless to old laptop

Pros: lets my girlfriend get wireless on her old ibm laptop, fits nicely underneath a usb 2.0 card she already had. she had a usb wireless network adapter but i stepped on it, now i don't have to worry about stepping on it and breaking it anymore.

Cons: looses connection every once and a while so she has to restart her laptop to get it to work again.

Other Thoughts: for the price and convenience it's definitely worth it.

5 out of 5 eggsLots of Trouble/Worth The Coast

Pros: Cheap. Works.

Cons: You must modify things to get it to work. I can't tell you what based on the guidelines for these reviews.

Other Thoughts: Its a real pain that you have to use the Provided Utility to get it to work, Windows alone won't work.

2 out of 5 eggsLots of Trouble/Worth The Coast

Pros: Super Low Price, works very well once you get it up and going.

Cons: Where to start. The drivers provided on the CD are incorrect, as are the ones you get from the Vendor. You need to Modify the Driver file(which fixes Error 39), and you have to use the Driver Utility Software to make it work. And you need the new software to be compatible with LINKSYS Routers WEP 128Bit.

Other Thoughts: After figuring out how to modify the Win_2k_XP driver file properly it works great. Needed to copy the drivers to the HD and then modify the SourceDisk and the reference below it to the "C:\DriverLocation" . Also, you NEED to use the Utility provided for the card to access WAPs. And you need to get the latest utility to be compatible with 128Bit Encryption of LINKSYS routers, install the Utilities but DO NOT install the Drivers, point the Device Manager to the modified file in your HD.

4 out of 5 eggsItem has changed...

Pros: Works very good

Cons: Dont like the new software for win2k.

Other Thoughts: The pictures and card shown are no longer what you get as they changed companys who make the card. I havent had time to fully test the new model yet as im still selling old stock but i will post a update on how the new Rev C works.

3 out of 5 eggsLinux does work!

Pros: Price you cant beat. Others have stated that it doesn't work with Linux but it does there are several solutions that work depending on your distro. One Hint Google NDISWRAPPER...

Cons: Range isn't that great, walls/floors make it worse. True that there arent Linux drivers but can be made to work with a little effort using the windows driver.

Other Thoughts: Cant beat the price. Good for short ranges in small home, apartment or starbucks. I wouldn't recommend for any business environment. I get a good signal in a 20' radius but after that it drops fast. It does the job for me at the right price.

3 out of 5 eggsLinux not so much

Pros: Works well in Windows, drivers aren't too obnoxious.

Cons: No linux support at all, chipset vendor is entirely unwilling to work with developers.

2 out of 5 eggsDoesnt Pick up Signal

Pros: Its cheap...thats why i bought it

Cons: This device does not pick up a wireless routers signal. I have tried several different wireless routers, and this card just doesnt work very well.

This card picks up pa low signal one room away from the router.

Pathetic

Other Thoughts: Don't like this at all.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than L***sys

Pros: I just got it a few days ago, but it works great on my dad's old windows 2000 laptop. Good signal from one floor up, can't beat the price either.

Cons: none so far

4 out of 5 eggsNice lil card

Pros: Nice lil card. Good price. Worked right off the bat.

Cons: Windows XP SP2 didn't recognize it and had to use the CD to install drivers.

Other Thoughts: Had it up and running in under a half hour. A bit of a down that Windows didn't ID it right off the bat though. The only hard part was to get my Wireless Router to start working in Wireless again. Other then that it was an easy install and it works great!!
