Perfect - GUI eh? - Excellent
Pros: I really enjoy this device it has been 100 % solid performer in my environment. My environment in the office is very light use but I bought this for the demand of the split-port-tunneling, site to site VPN, and nearly 150 laptop to VPN connections bouncing from this office to another office housing the databases. I bought the 5510 over the 5505 because of the VPN connections I need the 5520 is a bit more in cost which was the only factor why I didn't get it believe me I wanted the 5520 but the 5510 was perfect for me.
Cons: ASDM aka GUI is weak in my opinion clicking around trying to find something is a good visual tool but I have always used the command line to get the job done.
Other Thoughts: I did have to call Cisco Tech Support to help me with the split port tunneling (never done it before) and she was very very helpful. We launched a WebEx (if I remember right) and I installed PuTTy on my Windows 7 computer and away she went while explaining everything in great detail. The followup calls were incredible I couldn't have asked for better support like I received.

Pros: It just works reliably
Cons: Not cheap
Other Thoughts: I've worked with a lot of servers and network equipment. One thing I always look for is something that just keeps on doing its job reliably. This thing has fallen into that category. For three years it ran 43 remote office tunnels and countless remote access sessions and never suffered from performance issues. The only time it has been down is when I've upgraded the IOS.

Reply to Old Software Version
Pros: This is a great quality Cisco product.
Other Thoughts: In the review of this product stating that the firmware is out of date that person gave the product a 3 of 5 because of this fact and then stated that it was a quality product. It is misleading to rate something based on the fact that the firmware may be outdated. This only shows that Cisco is constantly improving their products. I would be much more upset if the product had no firmware updates, THAT would bother me.

Old Software Version
Pros: As expected, a quality Cisco product.
Cons: The product received from Newegg.com was shipped with software version 7.0 (the same version that shipped when this product was first released). Since its release, the appliance software has been update three times (7.1, 7.2 and 8.0). New appliances should ship with version 8.0. The appliance shipped by Newegg.com has been on the shelf for some time.
