3 out of 5 eggsNot Asus' best

Pros: nice looking, good CPU power, Supports 16GB RAM, good size, on paper its a great machine & deal

Cons: quirks galore-

out if the box has performance issues with wifi

cant believe no 5Ghz Radio for wifi (No 5ghz N or A) on a modern $600+ laptop - when my $300 dell ultra portable cheapo beater laptop has it

After re-imaging to no UEFI bios standard MBR windows 7 at least now i can leverage my WHS2011 for backups and bare metal restores. But it didnt solve wifi dropping or
not reconnecting issues or laptop ignoring me when i use keyboard functions yo adjust brightness, or general network issues when on wifi like not seeing all my LAN devices/servers under "network"

should have had intel wifi radio - I think most issues are due to cheapo hardware like atheros wifi radio and other cheapo parts

my slightly older U36 is much more stable and made better with no quirks at all 3+ years. it also has a 2 year warranty and was $150 more with only 13.3" LCD and a 1st gen core i3 - no accident i guess, asus knows the quality of this one is shoddy and the low price & warranty (1 yr) reflects it

Other Thoughts: change settings for power saving to not go to low power and not shut off wifi when idle and it solves most of its wifi issues.
