5 out of 5 eggsNo they don't use 45w

Pros: I am not sure where you got your number but a 7962G does not use 45w of power. If I recall correctly they use a maximum of ~15w but generally less than 7w.

See this cisco documentation under Power:

3 out of 5 eggs*** Warning - Non standard POE

Pros: Lots of nice features. Very clean, professional looking.

Cons: This is NOT a standard POE capable VoIP phone!!!
This phone requires 48V!!! Requires either a power module or a special POE switch that can provide 48V!!!

Other Thoughts: This might've been a decent phone, if it didn't require such a large amount of power.
