5 out of 5 eggsGreat Managed Router

Pros: Awesome features. #1: Gigabit ports! And who doesn't like Gigabit?! VLAN, Trunking, security with encryption, the ability to Use Access Control Lists to shape traffic and block ports, ability to integrate a T1 line, Cable, or other WIC cards makes space savings pretty nice as well. If you're looking for a great Multi Service router, this one is pretty awesome.
I use one at home (yeah, overkill), and have deployed many others in small to medium businesses and they all preform as expected=AWESOME!
Some things not mentioned in the features, you'll need a Cisco Serial to RJ-45 cable, and a USB to Serial cable if your computer doesn't have a Serial connector on it. Oh yeah, and Putty, or some kind of terminal window (yes Mac will work).

Cons: Cisco doesn't seem to pack every box with a Console Cable, so you have to buy them separate in most cases.

Other Thoughts: There's no manual included because Cisco figures if you're buying their products you know that to program their products you have to go into the Command Line Interface (CLI), and if you're going into the CLI, then they figure you have some experience as a CCNA--or some kind of CCNA training. There are books online that you can get to help you configure the router, but you do need to know a fair amount about the Cisco CLI in order to program the enterprise class Routers and Switches--even with the manuals.

1 out of 5 eggsNewegg illegally sold us used equipment owned by Cox

Pros: After we went through a lengthy process with a reseller to change the ownership of the router from Cox to us, the product worked as expected.

Cons: When we got the routers and attempted to add them to our Cisco Smartnet account, Cisco informed us that one of the three routers we purchased was registered as belonging to Cox. After proving to them that we didn't buy a stolen router (as far as we knew), we were able to get the router on our account. This process delayed the deployment of the router by several weeks. I will not buy Cisco gear from Newegg again.

Other Thoughts: I have been buying hardware from Newegg for 10+ years and this is the first time I've ever had a problem.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: With some help from a tech was able to get it up and running to perform the things that we needed for our company.

Cons: I wish that it included a manuel for the product.
