2 out of 5 eggsNot the most compatible switch I've ever purhcased

Pros: Inexpensive, small size.

Cons: I had compatibility problems with the GS105. I use Trendnet gigabit switches and got this just to run a ROKU and an Apple TV at the same location. I was getting Glitches on the video on the ROKU that I had never seen before (a white flash at the bottom of the screen every once in a while) that I eventually tracked down to the GS105 loosing packets. I also would occasionally hook up my laptop to the GS105 and had a devil of a time with the laptop not getting an IP address. I replaced the GS105 with a Trendnet switch and not a problem since with any of the devices. One to send to the second hand store.

5 out of 5 eggsGood value on sale.

Pros: It does what it's supposed to do. Unmanaged switch with autosense and low power use. No issues with getting 1 gig speeds. I like the ports and indicator LEDs in front because it can make for easier troubleshooting. This is the most space efficient design.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: In the past, I've had reliability problems with Netgear. I went to a different, more affordable brand (TP-Link) that was more reliable. It just so happened that this was on sale and I needed 5 ports. I read the reviews from the past year, and it looks like they've fixed their reliability and design problems they were having. We'll see.

4 out of 5 eggsGood but 1 flaw

Pros: Gigabit speed. Small form factor. Lifetime warranty. Have been using for almost 6 months and is very fast for gigabit wired networking.

Cons: Was having trouble getting Xbox 360 to connect at faster than 10mbps. Moving ethernet cable to different port on this Netgear switch resolved the issue and connected at 100mbps. Hope this helps other people having this problem. Switch should not be this picky for speed auto negotiation.

Other Thoughts: A PC connected to "picky" ethernet port connected at gigabit speed.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It's a switch. Not only that, it's an Ethernet switch, even better it allows computers to talk to each other, and the best of all... It works..

Cons: You have to power it with the ac adapter for it to work. It stops working if you run it over with a truck. That also seems to void the warranty

Other Thoughts: Only people who will not run it over with a truck

5 out of 5 eggsMy go-to switch

Pros: Have installed and used about 10 of these and have never had a problem.

Cons: Doesn't go on sale often enough?

Other Thoughts: I always keep one of these units on hand. Great for a quick expansion project, or when a customer has an old "fast" switch I can swap out for an easy speed boost.

5 out of 5 eggsFast, solid and inexpensive-

Pros: Metal housing, nice power supply, seems well made, works perfectly for my Media Center and internet needs.

Cons: It won't clean my garage

Other Thoughts: I bought this to connect 4 HTPC systems that require Gigabit connections.

I'm downporting to my old WRT54G- so that I can segment my Ethernet, while still keeping internet accessability on the Gigabit network.

It's keeping the HTPC "Media Extenders" and "Media Server" systems from creating congestion on my old "normal" 100bT wired computer network.

The WRT54G sees none of the Media Center/Extender traffic.

Awesome! I'm VERY happy.

It works PERFECTLY!
