Perfect Solution
Reviewed By: on 12/12/2009
Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Needed this to connect devices that did not have wireless capability. As noted in other reviews, printer software must be installed to all PC's in the network. May need to connect the printer via USB to the laptop or PC to complete the installation of printer software, then move the USB line to the print server and reconfigure the PC/Laptop with the print server CD to setup use through the print server. Since both my USB printers did not have wireless capability nor did my 3 desktop PC's and I needed to have the wireless router in another room, I was able to use this device to connect all my equipment with print access to both printers as well as my two laptops. Everything works perfect.
Cons: Speed of 54Mbs is slower than 100Mbs dedicated LAN connection, but I can live with the slower speed to gain the wireless connections. Lack of WPA2 was not a concern, as this level of security is more for business/finanical security, not general home web use.
Other Thoughts: Saved a lot of money compared to replacing my 2 existing printers and buying individual wireless devices for my 3 desktop PC's.
