5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: This thing is awesome. I love that it is gigabit and very reliable.

Cons: Other than the noisy fan, which is to be expected, none.

4 out of 5 eggsFine

Pros: I have a couple of these installed at clients. No problems so far.

Cons: My main gripe is that the web interface can be slow. The fans are also a bit loud.

Other Thoughts: Hard to beat for the money.

5 out of 5 eggs2 are stacked

Pros: I've had these in service for about a year. No problems what so ever. These things are solid like other Netgear appliances I've used. I don't know about your server room but the fans aren't all that loud. these are in a rack, in a climate controlled server room with 6 severs+other "fanned" hardware...I imagine these would be a bit loud just sitting on a desk but then I wouldn't put them on a desk! These offer a good alternative to more expensive solutions for a Gbit network and have handled about 40 users (with 6-10 remotes via VPN) without a hitch! Good job Netgear and of course Newegg is top notch.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Just waiting for my clients to grow so I can grab a few more!!

1 out of 5 eggsTres Horrible (Very Horrible)

Pros: 24 Gigabit Ethernet, Cheap Price, Smart Switch, Webview, and Stackable

Cons: Cheaply Made, Fan is louder than my Air Conditioner (thats sad because the fan acts like a whistle), Web-view is horrible i cant do anything on it along with the fact that the gigabit ports started dropping out like mosquitoes in a blizzard, Its cheap but along with that its also cheaply made. The Stackable part was amazing as we used this and it worked very well (until we had the master slowly painfully fail)

Other Thoughts: Its good until it dies. I'm NOT knocking on Netgear but this switch in perticular is not very good although if it works for you the price is a steal

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice Switch

Pros: Very easy set-up and can work on a home network without having to manage the switch. Also very fast through put. Lifetime warranty.

Cons: The fan is somewhat noisy so thanks to the fact it is my basement.

Other Thoughts: This is switch is the main backbone in my whole house. I have 2 Tivos, 2 Desktops, 2 laptops (mostly of the time wired), HP Server, 3 Squeezebox network music players, PS3, Belkin Network USB Hub and Denon receiver. No hiccups or problems like I had with Lin***s brands.

5 out of 5 eggsOne Solid switch

Pros: After two solid weeks of running this switch, I have zero functional complaints. This is perfect for any small office, and has features that larger environments spend a fortune to implement. Hosting two websites, email servers, secure file transfer and multiple operating systems – you'll immediately notice the throughput is fantastic. I'm very picky when it comes to networking hardware, and about anything for that matter, and for me to recommend this switch, I can't have had any issues. Flakiness, lockups, dropped packets are a no-no. I didn't have a single issue.
I can't wait to get another one and test the stacking functionality. Big thumbs up NETGEAR.

Cons: The graphical switch GUI colors do not coincide with those on the switch itself; picky maybe, but I'd like to see amber for 100MB ... everything shows up green (aka gig).

Other Thoughts: Fans can be noisy, so ensure that it's in an area that doesn't have to be very quiet.

5 out of 5 eggsBest price performance

Pros: This switch was a recent addition to our small office network (<150 users). It came in as an addition to increase gigabit connectivity, but I've recently re-routed traffic to use this as our "backbone". I was a fan of the Linksys SRW20 that we were using, but for nearly the same money this one is stackable (via high-speed HDMI form-factor interconnect), supports all the relevant features for a small network (even at a bleeding-edge technology company), and has a very easy to user interface (GUI). The interface (GUI) is complete in the sense that I've not yet been required to tap into the serial port command line to access features as I have had to do on so many other managed switches in the past. Netgear is even nice enough to publish the backplane speed of 48 gigabit/sec where as I have not been able to find the same spec for many other products in this price range.

Cons: None so far. Throughput on our network is better than ever and user complaints of slow transfer times are down.

Other Thoughts: I'm hoping to add the 48-port version soon to take advantage of stacking and see if the LACP 802.3ad implementation will allow me to connect half the server's trunk to each switch giving us switch failure resiliency. I will post results in a review for the 48-port if this works. I would like to see an unmanaged version of the switch (read less expensive) that could be added to the stack as a slave unit.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent switch

Pros: Excellent throughput, easy to setup, can hardly hear the fans. Replaced my 4 port gigabit router as the main switch in the house and it turned my laggy internet connection into a screamer, no more hesitation when I click a link, freezes or drop outs when playing games online are kept to a minimum and I have expandability for the future. I absolutely love it.

Cons: Not silent, if that's what your looking for

Other Thoughts: I use the GS724TS as the main switch for my home w/ 4 computers, 4 TiVos, a servers, a HTPC, an NAS box, PS2, Pioneer A/V receiver and a laptop and it performs great, no problems yet.
