Pros: Best router i have ever owned streams to my ps3 with no problems sometimes even in bluray format also firewall settings are really easy and i also game a lot never have a drop in connection and i stream my movies from my plex account to my phone away from my home and i never have a problem with my router this is a must have router if you have more than 10 connections on wireless very fast!

3 out of 5 eggsCable Modem users take not

Pros: Once configured, performs fine. Have 4 wired connections, including 2 VOIP phones, no performance issues (we relaced a Cisco router that had performance issues).

Cons: Setup, whether using the admin console or the setup wizard assumes that you will hook this to a modem that requires a login (usually dsl). Could not get it to recognize the cable modem. Had to call tech support, and their solution was to clone the mac address from the last device that successfully connected to the modem (which in my case, was the bad Cisco router I was replacing!).

Other Thoughts: Have installed a dozen or so routers over the years, and never had to do this before. Maddening that this router would not synch to the modem immediately, but if this cloning is a required step, the least Netgear could do is put it in the documentation/the setup wizard/or in the help text along side the console.

If you have a cable modem, and this thing does not come on line right away, just call Netgear support. DOn't waste your time trying to 'fix' the problem your self.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat range with DD-WRT

Pros: Range in G mode is best I have seen so far in a home router. Also runs DD-WRT

Cons: My connection speeds top out at around 20M around the house, no GbE ports

Other Thoughts: I've had this router for over a year now and it still tops the list. I've tried others from Buffalo, Linksys, but always end up plugging this back in because it has to range to get wireless out to my shop which is 100' away from the house.

Of course your mileage may vary. I use it in 2.4Ghz G/N mode and have turned off the 5Ghz.

I also run DD-WRT on it which is the best S/W. You need to follow their instructions specifically and use a special build for this router, but it works fine and is very stable. Only for the experienced networker though.

Overall a solid router, I have had none of the HW issues others reported. Bought it from Newegg - great service.

5 out of 5 eggsFlawless Victory!

Pros: Incredibly easy set-up, it is what 'plug and play' should be. Wireless connection software was a quick, simple four click process. LEDs indicate computer numbers plugged directly into it. I can see my computer is #1, my wife's #2, etc. from across the room. Connection is very solid with our house full of gamers/wireless users. Thoughtfully engineered and designed, not cheaply thrown together. Very impressive unit at a reasonable price.

Cons: At night the blue LED flashy lights turns your room into a techno club. Actually, that's not too much of a con. Actually, that's not too much of a con, just need to turn on the right music.

Other Thoughts: I'll be looking for the NetGear name in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsBack 4 More

Pros: Very easy to setup, great range - even works well when located in the basement. This router was perfect for me cause I have all the latest stuff, but a lot of my friends have older laptops so the duel band wireless. This is the second 3300 that I own - for separate households

Cons: Haven't found one yet

Other Thoughts: Works well with my Cisco telecom device for Vonage

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Router!

Pros: Xmission out to abouot 140 feet from house. Easy to install and configure; great value for the cost.

Cons: Does not run n and g simultaneously, but not a negative to drop an egg.

Other Thoughts: The one time I did call tech support, they were friendly, quick to discern the problem (change to a different channel to increase range). Since we need to get another 50 feet of range, we are buying another unit to use as a range extender.

4 out of 5 eggsGood connection speeds

Pros: Much faster than previous linksys N router (which was a about 1 year old and disconnecting very often)
Simple interface- everything is nicely oriented and has excellent descriptions of how each function operates
Reserved ip addresses- when a device is connected and you want to reserve an IP address it only takes two clicks.

Cons: -Blue lights are annoying
-No GB ethernet
-Only one passphrase for both G and N

Other Thoughts: It would be nice to be able to mount vertically on a wall. I haven't gotten any of the disconnect issues others have had.

4 out of 5 eggsFinally a firmware update for the dropped connections.

Pros: Many features - dual band g and n

Cons: It was dropping connections randomly with g connections and a n 5ghz card. Brand did not matter.

A firmware update is available that is supposed to take care of the drops. So far after a couple hours no drops. Would have normally had at least one in that time period.

Other Thoughts:
