Solid and works with DD-WRT
- Pros: I got the v2 so it was an extremely easy task to update the firmware to the much praised DD-WRT. I've used that firmware for over a year now, and my last router that died worked the best using it. Make sure if you want to upgrade to DD-WRT that you read the tutorials once or twice through just to make sure you don't make a silly mistake and brick this thing. It handles lost of connections (torrents), and makes setting up a virtual wireless BSSID to let your friends "borrow" your internet without putting your home network at risk.
- Cons: It wasn't brand new, but that's what you get with a refurb
- Other Thoughts: It would be nice if Netgear released a solid dual-band N router that used DD-WRT, but for now this will do.
Cheap and it works
- Pros: Have four of these running one at home, one at office, and two at another location. Repeater function hooks up eaisily. works great.
- Cons: No external antena nor a place to hook one up.
- Pros: I purchased this router to use as a network bridge at my home. It supports DD-WRT so it made it easy to set up as a bridge. It has internal antenna that I thought might be a problem but so far haven't gave me any issues. If your looking for a cheap, reliable secondary router I would recommend this one.
- Cons: Internal antenna but you can look on the dd-wrt site to see a how to on modifying it with external ones.
