1 out of 5 eggsrubbish

Pros: it was plug and play, with minimal interference on my part. windows detected it immediately and installed the drivers without a hiccup.

Cons: it started dropping connection within hours after installation. i have had netgear products before second-handedly, this is my first firsthand experience with them

Other Thoughts: i have since avoided netgear with all of my purchases since and have zero regrets. i should have listened to my experience and avoided purchasing this in the first place, but money was tight and i needed the wifi connectivity.

3 out of 5 eggsNo Drivers Included

Pros: Works fine once drivers are installed

Cons: Well, the fist thing I noticed is that there are no drivers included in the package and you have to go on the Internet to download them. This wasn't huge deal, but definitely an annoyance, since the computer I am installing it in did not have Internet access (that's why I'm buying the wireless card). If you are buying this and don't have another computer to download the drivers with, you might want to look elsewhere.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks with

Pros: Works with 100% free (libre) software. I run Trisquel GNU/Linux which is all free software and this is one of the devices that works out of the box. If you run a GNU/Linux distro you should be able to get this device to work with plug and play.

Cons: Can get a little hot.

5 out of 5 eggsnetgear wg111 recertified adapter

Pros: fast easy set up low low price great internet connection dependable to use signal strength five even six circles

Cons: gets warm but can easily be unplugged have not had it long enough to know if that can cause damage

Other Thoughts: i networked two computers bak in the day of early home networking. it was complicated but it worked problem was resetting linksys router when adapter when out and there was no internet so like an idiot i burned my money monthly and paid for two modems from cablevision i know how to set up networks so it killed me paying that extra fifty a month when the previously so dependable end of life router started to lose signal and rca gold plated splitters and cable didnt work i ordered this. It was easier than i ever remembered to home network and get online since i already have a netgear router i am familiar with their easy easy ability to get online and set up For this adapter to work all i did was go to netgear website and download the LATEST DRIVER. the light went on and i was onlline in 20 seconds. So far no dropped connections and fast fast internet. The router and adapter are only one room apart. The adapter does get warm but not scarily hot. The modem is going bak and IM saving

1 out of 5 eggsFYI

Pros: Purchased this recertified adapter for $9.99 and free shipping from Newegg back in May 2010, it worked great for 93 days -----

Cons: However, the manufactures warranty expired @ 90 days. It ran hot even though I used the USB cable provided to keep the device up and away from my laptop - didn't help dissapate the heat, and it finally just stopped connecting.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks fine

Pros: It works, what else could I ask for? Especially for the price.

Cons: Could have a better Mps rate, but works pretty well even for streaming video. Not plug-n-play on Win7, but worked OTB on Ubuntu 9.10.

Other Thoughts: Had to manually download the drivers and install since at the time of purchase the device wasn't Win7 plug-n-play capable. Even with that it only took about 15min max to download drivers on another computer, copy to thumb drive and set it all up on my Nettop. A little minor work for a huge savings

3 out of 5 eggsRecertified=Low$ OK

Pros: Cheap, NetGear, Easy setup

Cons: Shield on female end of cable is too long to be used with the adapter holder for Velcro attachment. Even pushed all the way in, it BARELY connects with the adapter and caused me frustration because I didn't know what was wrong when it came the least bit loose. Also, the adhesive on the Velcro doesn't stay stuck to the adapter holder; it fell off the wall twice till I just temporarily tied it to a nail that was in the wall with a cable tie.

Other Thoughts: Have to move it around to get a fast signal. Consider a Range Max type if across the length of your house.

3 out of 5 eggsSlow:/

Pros: Cheap. Name-brand product.

Cons: I guess that an item being name-brand doesn't always make it good. For some reason, I couldn't get more than 300KB/s down out of this thing on a 5MB/s down wireless network. Luckily, I only had it as backup for my desktop in case wired failed. Managed to snag a wireless-G PCI card later and I'm back to normal speeds.

Other Thoughts: Ping was also fairly high on gaming servers with this.
