1 out of 5 eggsIt disconnects 10 times a day at a minimum

Pros: It gets good signal even though I am pretty far from my wireless router

Cons: It disconnects intermittently at least 10-15 times daily and sometimes will stay disconnected until I unplug then replug it back in

Other Thoughts: would not recommend

5 out of 5 eggsUnderrated product

Pros: - Fast. ~12MB/s download, ~5MB/s update, 12ms ping with 10mb/s internet.

- Easy to install. Just plug it in, run the driver install (the driver disk has a simple program where you click one button to install the drivers) and you're good to go.

- Good connectivity. I'm about 15ft away from a repeater (with a wall with a door in the way too), which isn't that far, but with 5 solid bars I'm happy with it.

- Mobile. I don't think you need this if you have a laptop, but since it's USB it's fairly easy to transport.

Cons: - It's expensive. I bought it at my local major retailer for $30 (same price as Newegg at the time I'm writing this) and that's a bit pricey. Could've gotten a much better deal on an internal card (which may not work on mobile devices, but mobile devices should have a internal one anyway). I only bought this since they only have USB Netgear wireless adapters there.

Other Thoughts: I'm using Win7 64 bit. Don't know if the problems other people experience are because of a different OS or what. Worth a try though if you're looking for a USB wireless adapter.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible Ping

Pros: Windows shows a strong connection, and says I'm connected at 65mbps on a 20mhz channel width, and a solid 150mpbs when the router is using 40mhz channel widths. However...

Cons: - Refuses to receive a download speed greater than 2mbps, when we are paying for 7.
- Latency in games is beyond atrocious. This adapter (until I figure out any problems) is unusable with games.

Other Thoughts: Did not purchase from Newegg. Was given free from the AT&T Tech when he installed our U-Verse. (upgraded from old style DSL)

1 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: None

Cons: Installing the drivers of this product were a pain in the rump. The included does not simplify installation what so ever. The range of connectivity is very limited. You almost have to be in the same room as your router. Recommend having router being on same level or same side of house only. My laptop card picked up signal better.

Other Thoughts: Would never purchase this product

1 out of 5 eggsNever again...

Pros: It works when it works...any other time it's a paper weight at best.

Cons: Always fails to connect to any connection, I have to manually unplug and plug back in to make it work, or I have to change the USB port to make it work again if only for a short time. I do not recommend this product to another person after the trouble I had with it.

Other Thoughts: It was the only cheap adapter at the time. So I guess it's my own fault for going cheap. Spend the extra money and buy a better product.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works well in windows 7

Cons: The driver for windows 8 is has a disconnecting problem, it is well known on the netgear forums.
I would advise against getting this if you plan on using, or are using windows 8.

Other Thoughts: Started using it on windows 7 used for a while, then went to windows 8 and started having disconnection issues following the upgrade, tried everything I could to fix it, forums, driver wipe, reinstall, etc. No dice.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well for me Win 7 x64

Pros: Worked well for me. Standard setup, home built PC with Windows 7 x64. Plugged it in and was able to get it recognized quickly. Range is actually very surprising as it gets more bars than any other mobile device I have. Has a long cord and dock to move away from the PC for better reception. I am guessing that many others having problems are either user error, incompatibilities on their own PCs or defective item.

Cons: None that I can think of. Got this at a ridiculous discount. not sure I'd want to pay $35 as it is now but it works well for what it is.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk adapter

Pros: has a stand

Cons: disconnects, slow speed

Other Thoughts: I would avoid this adapter completely. It only works with Netgear routers. I got a better router and it keeps disconnecting, slow speed. Now it's down to 64K download speed so it has died. These adapters are real cheap on the used market because everybody is dumping them

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid like the plague

Pros: The dock is pretty nifty

Cons: Random disconnects every hour or so, slow speeds, horrible range

Other Thoughts: the title says it all, of all that ive owned this has been the worse wifi adapter. The randomly spontaneous disconnects are bad enough bud the speeds when it does work are still slow, with minimal range
