5 out of 5 eggsLove It!

Pros: Works.

Cons: None So Far!

Other Thoughts: Used this to replace a wireless card that simple wasn't doing the trick. The Mbps register the same but the transfer speeds are far better and more reliable.

4 out of 5 eggsPlug and play

Pros: Worked right out of the box. Just plugged one of the adapters near my computer and a cable into the router. Then I took the other plug downstairs and did the same with my blue-ray player. Bingo! Streaming Netflix without any hiccups. I was using a wireless adapter with my blue ray player but the signal kept flickering. My wife likes the fact that it has encryption as it helps with her general paranoia.

Cons: This one is a bit pricey.

The 2 Ethernet cables included in the box are only six feet long. Seriously... for over $100 they could have thrown in 8 or 10 foot cables.

(minus 1 egg for high cost and short cords).

Other Thoughts: This is way cheaper than having someone wire up your house with Ethernet cable. I just cut my cable and went with Netflix so the price of this gear was literally equivalent to one month of my cable bill $$$!! They should sell these in mutli-packs (4 or 5 units).

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible, didn't work

Pros: None.

Cons: The units didn't work. I tried every possible configuration, even installing their terrible utility app onto my computer and configuring them that way, but no dice. Here's what I experienced:

• Speeds of 0.5Mbit/s (on a Gigabit network)
• Frequent ping timeouts / packet loss
• Round-trip time of 50ms on average (with spikes over 1,000ms)
• Applications and websites would refuse to load internet content because of the poor connection quality.

I tried plugging both into sockets in the same room - no luck. None of the adapters were plugged into surge protectors or anything like that. I tried with security on and off, and still nothing.

I just returned these after a few weeks of fighting with them.

Other Thoughts: I bought a pair of ZyXEL PLA407s instead, and they worked beautifully right out of the box, no set up required.

5 out of 5 eggsThis product ROCKS!!!

Pros: Older office building with difficult wiring demands. Bought this product as a test to see if we could avoid the hassle of installing new drops for a new workstation install. To my suprise I simply plugged them in, connected to the switch, and tadah! Gigabit connectivity! I'm sold, no more crazy wire runs in the old office building. I'm loving this product!

Cons: Would like to see this product be a little less expensive, I would double my purchase amount easily.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very easy setup
Great connection
Not huge
Beats running 2 routers in client bridge mode hands down

Cons: NONE!!!

Other Thoughts: house built in 1985, and i get around 200Mbs down and 140 up, this is much better than my old client bridge routers which i would always have issues with, the 2 adapters are on separate circuits as well

i highly recommend these, i am probably going to buy another and put it upstairs in the house

4 out of 5 eggsIt works!

Pros: Like the title says, it works!!! Many, including me, were wondering - is it really as good as it should be. It is. No problems, just plug and play. Different floors, different electrical circuits no problem.
The indicator/status lights are very helpful.

Cons: None really except for failing to set the expectations right. YOU WILL NOT GET 500 Mbps PERIOD. That is probably the best case scenario achieved in the lab and over the short distance.
I am probably getting 80-100 Mbps which is plenty for online gaming (first person shooter with > 80 fps) and watching Netflix AT THE SAME TIME (two monitors, each is 1920X1080).

So, all is well. It performs well but you're not getting even close to 500 Mbps and that is why I gave it 4 eggs!

5 out of 5 eggsStone simple

Pros: Just plug it in and go. Worked immediately. Getting 120-150 kbps in an old house with mixed wiring. About 5x faster than my 11n wireless connection on my HTPC. Compact enough to share a 2-plug outlet. It's nice not to have wireless devices interfere with HTPC streaming now.

Cons: Not really a Gigabit or 500 kbps network adapter, but I knew better than that already. Throughput is as expected.

Other Thoughts: I had units with the latest firmware installed. I had no issues with wireless keyboard or mouse interference as some other users have reported.

3 out of 5 eggsJumbo Frames

Pros: Work as advertised, easy install.

Cons: Could not find any mention of Jumbo frame support, so I took a chance. However, as soon as I try anything with a large payload at frame set to larger than 1500, no transfers.

5 out of 5 eggsBest invention ever.

Pros: Simply put, it's the perfect networking solution for a desktop. I got these things last November and haven't had a single issue yet. I have it plugged into a small switch and can run two computers simultaneously with no problem.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product!

Pros: Easy setup, plug-n-play out of the box with nothing to configure.
No need to deal with configuring a wireless network or running cable.

Cons: Takes up half of your electrical outlet.

Other Thoughts: Had some hesitation in buying it because I had to connect my ethernet switch to my router in another room and didnt want to use wireless. Even though Netgear doesnt show it on their website, I figured it would be able to connect a switch through this product to my router. And yes, it does. Just plug one adapter to the router, the other adapter to a port in the switch, and it will automatically provide Internet access to any other switch port. Nothing to configure!
