3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Mediocre product, if the price is right its worth the risk otherwise look elsewhere, it's faster than 54G but not by a lot.

Cons: Make sure to get the drivers for this ahead of time, you will need them as there are no generic ones for it. Don't expect that great of speeds or range either.

4 out of 5 eggsQuite Good

Pros: It has a good connection speed and strength and it is surprisingly durable. It did have a little bit of trouble after constantly barraging it with videos but I watched a large amount of high quality videos.(See con for more about the video problems) but compared to my stock internet card its connection stability was a lot better. I also ran a small game server with it.

Cons: It was a hassle to get it to connect since it wouldn't work without a driver and the CD that was supposed to be provided with the driver didn't come with it. In the end I just used a laptop and hardwired it to my PC then downloaded it that way. It connects well but every now and again I'll have to pull it out and put it back in after it lost connection but that's only if I watch like a large amount of videos for multiple days. Like 8-10 hrs for a week or so.

Other Thoughts: The fact that the CD wasn't there made me give it four stars but for $9 its very good.

4 out of 5 eggs2nd time around

Pros: Very quick set up.

Cons: First one was DOA (hence the -1 egg), customer service was great though and shipped a new one right out.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: It didn't hurt my new computer.

Cons: DOA - flaky. Upon loading the newest driver from company website, I plugged in adapter and got lovely BSOD within 2 minutes - Windows detected a hardware error. Reboot and reload driver, I get network connection for 2 - 3 minutes, then connection drops, unplug adapter, replug and now Windows cannot detect device - hardware malfunction error message.

I try to roll back the driver one level, same errors, occasional BSOD and repeated network drops within minutes and then Windows hardware error message.

Original problem was on Windows 7 x64 machine, I tried my old XP x32 machine and get same hardware error message within minutes of connecting. No BSOD but not able to use network adapter for more than 1-2 minutes.

Now I have to RMA this back and take chances on another unit.

Other Thoughts: After ~60 items bought from Newegg over a 7 year period, this is the first time I had to RMA something. I have bought new, open box and refurbs and they always worked out of the box. This is a Netgear problem, not Newegg - the adapter was pretty scuffed up, it showed some physical wear you would not expect on a USB network adapter, poor QC imho by Netgear.

5 out of 5 eggsPerforms very well

Pros: Cheap. easy to install on win 7 64.

Cons: none yet

Other Thoughts: Picked this up for 10 bucks...cant argue with the price. I read the instructions and downloaded the software without a problem. Works better than expected with my Cisco N150 router. I get full strength readings two rooms away (about 60 ft). Blue LED matches the rest of the LEDs in my case. Overall very happy with this purchase. Now if it lasts at least two years I'll say it was worth it.

3 out of 5 eggsEh!

Pros: Its cheap...very cheap. Pickup range is pretty descent.

Cons: Install makes it hard. Windows 7 will not install automatically on a 64 bit anyway. Which is really hard since some of us are buying in order to get a computer internet access haha. Also you have to go the extra mile to disable netgear from taking over as the connection manager. I wouldnt have minded but it constantly lost the connection and made me set it up over and over and over till i finally decided to let windows handle it.

Other Thoughts: If you uninstall their software ...you also uninstall the drivers with it. You cant get one without the other on their site.

5 out of 5 eggs2 scoops of awesome

Pros: plugged into windows XP / 7 and get this EVEN LINUX! All worked without a hitch and I got 10 times faster ping times and speed in my home network. Even my Ubuntu Linux worked like a charm without and changes!

Cons: None that I can find! Worked and keeps on working and the cable makes it even better so its not hanging off my PC. Although you can remove it and use it as a dongle. Great idea. I now have N connection throughout my entire house!
