3 out of 5 eggsCheap

Pros: I purchased this to compliment an aging wireless adapter I had that was not compatible with early builds of Windows 8. When I plugged this one in, Windows (7 and 8) recognized it and installed it. I guess that's all you can ask from a cheap adapter.

Cons: Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this product. Now that it has been in use for a little while, it is horribly unreliable. About every 3rd time I power my pc on, I have to unplug and replug the adapter in because it will refuse to connect to any network.

This adapter comes with an extension cord so that you can have it sit on top of your computer tower to get better reception. However, I still find that reception is mediocre, at best. The total distance from my router to adapter is maybe 15' as the crow flies (through 2 walls) and I struggle to pull 3 bars. A speed test shows that I lose roughly 40% of my available speed.

Other Thoughts: Given the aforementioned problems, I can't recommend this to anyone as a long-term solution to their network. It works alright for someone who needs a very cost-effective solution to expanding their wireless network, but for anyone who spends much time online, pass on this and opt for a newer model.

5 out of 5 eggsrefurbished is sometimes the way to go

Pros: Cheap. Works like it should. USB extension. My mom (in her 60s) was able to set up when I mailed her computer back to her with the adapter. I'd already loaded the drivers, but she still had to go in and set up the wi-fi with help from my brother.

Cons: None. Stick was a little large, but I knew that before buying it.

Other Thoughts: Connected to my mom's computer for use with her HTC One. No problems connecting and my mom was able to move use the usb extension cable to move the wi-fi stick to a better location to connect with her phone (two computers, a laptop, a W.D. media player and a tablet).

1 out of 5 eggsWhat can I say, it's DOA

Pros: Comes with a dock.

Cons: Doesn't work.

Other Thoughts: Thinking about it, buying this was dumb. Just looking for a cheap backup network adapter. It costs about as much to ship it, as it does for the item. LAME

3 out of 5 eggsGood when they work

Pros: Price. Ordered 2
The one that worked is great. Can stream 1080p with it and a 300mbps router.
Comes with a USB extension cord with stand.

Cons: Both looked well used, a lot of scratches. I buy a lot of refurbs and these adapters and a Netgear router are the only ones I've ever gotten that looked used.
One was defective. Had to pay to ship it back.

1 out of 5 eggsnetgear wna3100 review

Pros: it was on sale

Cons: it did not come with the extension adapter, newegg said that was because refurbished products do not come with the accessories ( but I see they are still showing it with the adapter even a year later )

Other Thoughts: it doesn't work all the time, if I wake the computer up 50% of the time it will work, the rest of the time it does not. I have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to work.

5 out of 5 eggs Very Suprised...

Pros: Very easy set-up - Very good range - Not a single drop (yet) - Price - Price - Price!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I Have this in conjunction with Netgears wrn200v3 router.
Some reviewer had a hard time finding the drivers.
I just read one of the reviews where the link for the drivers were typed out. Just locate, copy, paste and voila - connected. Just that simple.
Oh, and a one year replacement warranty - It's a "no-brainer" purchase.

4 out of 5 eggsI wish that review was sooner

Pros: Connects me to the internet

Cons: Has it's own little program for connecting and causes blue screens (I've been having them too with no real knowledge of why until I read the review below)

Other Thoughts: Thanks to the review below me for finding out that it was actually this that was causing my blue screens. I didn't understand why I was getting them before.
