1 out of 5 eggsLAME!

Pros: It looks kind of nice

Cons: doesn't work
cannot log into web interface to configure
NO support from Netgear
NO documentation from Netgear

Other Thoughts: Save your money and buy something worth owning. I am an MCSA, Network+, A+, and several other certifications with 10-years industry IT experience.

4 out of 5 eggsit does what i needed

Pros: easy to setup

Cons: its very simplified and for advanced users thats not always the best.

very limited settings

WLAN LED turns off after being on for a while. still works fine and the other two are lit but not the wlan. the only way to get it back on is to unplug the power.

the WLAN LED indicates the wireless signal strength so unless you checking the strength all the time this wont matter to you

Other Thoughts: i am not up to date with all the networking terms but i do know how to the do majority of various networking tasks. In my situation when using this it would connect to the router and list itself as a wireless device then it would also list the connected device as a wired device on the router.

i ended up not using this but instead using a old netgear router with dd-wrt to do the job. i was able to configure the dd-wrt router to not send connected device information.

1 out of 5 eggsPiece of junk

Pros: None

Cons: I am soooo sick and tired of dealing with electronics that do not work as promised, then burning HOURS of my time trying to deal with incompetent tech support "help." The instructions give the impression that it's 3 easy steps. In my case, the Netgear adapter saw the wireless network but wouldn't connect--no matter what. I burned an hour trying to follow the setup wizard- it kept telling me to move the adapter closer to the router-- in the end I stacked it right on top of the router), then I spent 2 hours on the phone with tech support to no avail (it took nearly half an hour just to give the guy the 12 digit, microscopic serial number-- he kept talking over me saying "mm hmm" each time I was reading the number, then trying to read it back to me and getting it wrong repeatedly). When I asked to be transferred to a different tech, he kept insisting that he needed me to answer "just one more question" and then would transfer me-- but it went on and on without end. Eventually I got to a level II tech guy, *eventually* he concluded that the router (standard century link default setup) wanted a MAC address which this device does not transmit, and that I would have to get into the router configuration to change the settings there (this would require another tech support call to the ISP-- not going there). This took 2 hours, to identify what must be an extremely common issue. As far as I'm concerned, the product info indicating that this connects easily to a wireless network is false advertising. I'd give the product, and Netgear tech support, negative stars if I could.

Other Thoughts: It takes a lot to get me to lose my temper. Congratulations Netgear. You've lost my business forever.

5 out of 5 eggsThis is Great Item

Pros: This is a WPA Bridge I hooked it up to my TV using the CAT5 Cable and USB for Power. Pushed the WPA button on the Bridge and the WPA button on my Router 30 Seconds later my Sony TV was connected to the Internet without running CAT5 Cable all over my house. My TV is a few years old it has some smart features and now I can use them. I wanted to buy the Sony USB Network device but it is no longer made this is a great replacement.

Cons: Little Slow and Netflicks need to buffer some but it is better shopping Bid Websites and others sites and people wanting to over charge you for something that is the same speed.

Other Thoughts: I purchased the refurbished one and it works fine.

1 out of 5 eggsLasted Four Months

Pros: I purchased this as "Refurbished," a few months ago. (I did a favorable review, back on 9/8/2013.) I was happy with the product, and when using the AC adapter, it provided a fine wifi connection for my purposes (although I'm not a 'gamer'), at a 'remote' desktop.

Cons: Last week, it suddenly stopped working, wouldn't establish a connection at all. I tried changing Ethernet cables and repeatedly attempted to get a connection, to no avail. I next plugged it into my laptop and disabled the internal wifi, but it acted the same. Lastly, I went to my newest desktop (located adjacent to the router), unplugged the direct connect Ethernet, and tried to use the wifi adapter---but with the same result.
I've purchased 'Refurbished' items before, both at Newegg and other places, and I'm generally satisfied with their performance and longevity. But I think that an item should last more than four months, so I'm not too pleased with this item.

2 out of 5 eggsEasy to set up, intermittent issues

Pros: Despite other reviews, I found the setup to be easy. It worked after following the instructions which didn't take too long at all.

Cons: The connection is good but it randomly disconnects or has issues receiving transmission.

Other Thoughts: I'd love to rate this 5 eggs because when it's working, it works very well. The problem I have come across is that it will randomly cycle out and not be connected. It corrects itself but it happens almost every hour. There are 3 lights up on the top. The one that shows internet signal status will change from green (good strength) to orange (connecting/poor strength) to red (bad connection/strength). It's like a heartbeat every hour where it goes from green to red to orange back to green. Can't rate it well because it's not really functional if you want to use the internet for more than an hour.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent - very easy setup - recommended

Pros: Excellent! Works with computers, printers, etc other than what's listed.

Cons: None so far. it's a bit larger than you might expect, and requires use of the included AC adapter. Just account for another wall wart on your AC power strip.

Understand that you'll need to plug this into your computer first, and set it up. From there on, it should work in another device. I've set up an older ethernet printer to do Wi-Fi, and also an older Mac.
