Pros: None

Cons: It simply does not work. It is so slow that each selection you really need half an hour coffe brake. Hopefully by that time you came back it might have stream something.

Other Thoughts: Neve ever recomend or buy this product.

1 out of 5 eggsPretty bad

Pros: When the OS is running well, everything is fine.

Cons: There is a memory leak somewhere that causes me to need to power cycle every few days, at least. It will grind to a hault and not respond to remote input. Also, the onboard NIC loses it's connection a few times a week. I've replaced cables and actually my switch since, and have proven that the wired NIC onboard just.. stops working sometimes.

Other Thoughts: Is slow to respond to remote control input such as typing, which can be frustrating.

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth the money

Pros: Cheaper than Ruko and available at staples for spur of the moment purchase. Has a fair a mount of apps and a remote....

Cons: Does not support home network streaming, neither music or video. Netflix compatibility is lacking at best. Slow to respond in pretty much any app. Often hangs and have to reset the unit. Firmware and software updates too rare as many bugs needs fixing. Often have to push the return button because HDMI output fails to register streaming.

Other Thoughts: Pretty disappointed in this item. I usually am fairly happy with netgear but they failed on this product. Not something I would ever buy again. Buy the Ruko, as it is MUCH more stable and much more solid and supports home network streaming.

5 out of 5 eggsThis thing is amazing for its price!

Pros: It has Netflix, Pandora, and like 200 other "apps." Even has a few card games like texas hold em. Firmware updates. Buffers pretty far ahead if you have a decent internet speed. It is a cute little box, and doesnt get too hot. 1080P is actually 1080p. I was going to buy the one that costed $10 more, but the only difference is the Intel WiDi support, and who uses that? Using my android phone as a remote is a pretty cool feature too.

Cons: No volume control with the remote. Also, the remote that comes with it doesnt have great range, you literally need to either point the remote directly at the neotv box or turn the box so it is facing right at you. Otherwise the remote doesnt work from more than 10 feet. Boohoo, not a big deal. Just use the ipod/android app for remote.

Other Thoughts: Would like to see volume controls on the remote. The settings and menus are tough to navigate at first. It gets laggy if you leave it on for a few days. Overall though, Im very impressed with what the box can do for the price I paid. Feel skeptical? I definately did but it won me over and I want to buy another one for my work now. Beats watching netflix on a PC...

3 out of 5 eggsWorks Exactly as Advertised

Pros: Device was unpackaged and hooked up within 1 minute using nothing but the power cord and an HDMI cable (not included). Device powered up, quick setup was a breeze. Device found my wireless network, connected, and found an update available. Applied update and explored device.

*Simple, Fast Setup
*1080p Streaming across my wireless network
*Multiple channels available on the device
*Auto-turn off in case I forget and leave it on

Cons: Device did not fulfill my minimum expectation of such a device.

Device has no method of accessing any network media.

Loses 2 stars for lacking basics by today's standards.
*No web browser.
*Unable to access my music/movies/pictures from my computer/NAS.

Other Thoughts: I can understand a manufacturer not wanting to include that the device is meant to be stand-alone on my network, but it's 1012. Everything is connected to everything for no reason what-so-ever. I can send a picture from my phone to my printer from 200 miles away. I would expect that a "Media Player" that has "network capability" to have the ability to play Media from my Network by premise alone. Caveat Emptor. I will eat the loss and hope that Netgear adds the most basic of basic functionality.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Little Box

Pros: size is great, hides in plain site.
ease of use, anyone who uses it is rolling right along in 2 minutes or less.
HDMI and HD, great picture, even on wifi.

Cons: can be a little slow at times. (its a little guy, give it a break)

Other Thoughts: All the people with the lockup and pink screen issues need to turn off the CEC Support in the A&V menu, most tv's don't have it.

3 out of 5 eggsIts ok.

Pros: Netflix & Pandora.

Cons: Slow, needs to be unplugged and re-plugged in. every few days.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi KennY,

We're concerned that you mention that your NTV200 has to be unplugged every few days--that isn't the intended or desired experience and we'd like to help. Have you contacted phone or online support? We encourage you to do so, and if they are unable to assist, please follow up with us at newegg@netgear.com.

Regards,

NETGEAR Team

4 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised!

Pros: I own a Roku and wanted a little variety. The interface is pretty smooth. Between the Roku Google TV (on my Sony TV) and the NeoTV, the Netgear offering is the easiest to navigate. Netflix, Pandora, and Hulu+ work great!

Cons: I have a couple of channels that I have on my Roku that I miss on the Neo:
1. Amzn Movies (not a huge deal thanks to VUDU)
2. HBO GO (this could be a deal breaker for some)

Other Thoughts: I like the product a lot. I read somewhere that Roku makes it for Netgear. It's bit bigger than Roku's latest offering so they might have just re-branded some old stock. So far it works great! We have been off cable for over a year now. With an OTA antenna and Roku, GoogleTV and now Neo we have managed a rather entertaining replacement for the old cable box.

2 out of 5 eggsMixed results

Pros: Small - HDMI - Wireless n - seems like a good menu setup

Cons: No Sound and the help from Netgear was totally underwhelming - you basically have to register the product to recieve *any* kind of help. And then - unable to help to to technical difficulties - try again later.

Other Thoughts: If this thing works - It seems better than using a wii or other devices i have tried to watch netflix ... If it works - so far no sound.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Anonymous,

We apologize for the problems you're having getting sound from the NTV200. Please contact us at newegg@netgear.com so we can assist you further--please provide the case numbers you were given by support so we can assist you more quickly.
