Pros: The product was easy to install and the remote is extremely easy to use. Which is great because I'm technologically illiterate.

Cons: A bit slow.

Pros: Great little box with all the features you could think of however I bought it for one reason, WiDi!

Cons: WiDi doesn't work at all, says incompatible with Windows 8. I checked with Netgear's forums and there is no fix although there may be one in the future. THe box is a paperweight until then.

Other Thoughts: I went with Netgear because my router and switch are both Netgear, however I regret buying this device.

Pros: microSD card slot and usb port to play my own media files

Cons: Video on every application is buggy and lags. Even when running with the most recent updates, netflix is jittery and struggles, even on my 30mbps Internet connection. Playing my own files will often stop mid-video. Fast forward and rewind of any video does not function, if you get it to fast forward, good luck getting it to play again. Wifi often drops off and it's not because of coverage - my phone sitting right next to this box has full wifi bars and doesn't disconnect. The little box gets very hot and after an hour or two of video, will simply restart itself. This device should never have been released to market.

Pros: DLNA wifi streaming, Hulu Plus, Netflix, Youtube

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I use this to watch movies from my home network. It sound the DLNA server on my Buffalo Linkstation. It was able to play MKV and AVI files from a share. It sorts everything very well and the interface is responsive. The device updated itself upon the initial setup. I would recommend this device.

I compared this to other devices like Roku, GoolgeTV, XBOX, AppleTV, WD Live, etc.. etc.. This was kind of an impulse buy however it turned out good. It is cheaper than the competition and seems to have more features.

Netflix

Cons: WiDi is not supported with Windows 8. Documented for months on the official Netgear forums.
After playing just over one hour of Netflix, the box got very warm and the video would freeze. That is also reported in many reviews where the product is sold.

Other Thoughts: I know I read the reviews before putting it on my Christmas list last month, but I expected the issues to be resolved by Christmas time. The experience will make me question any Netgear product in the future.
