This review is from: NETGEAR Powerline AV200 Mbps Mini Adapter Kit (XAVB1301), up to 200Mbps
Pros: Simple setup, worked well right out of box, range is good at over 100'. Really handy for temporary setups that do not support WiFi and unlike WiFi, brick walls in old houses are no problem at all. Been working without resets or fuss for months now. At 49$ will be getting some more soon.
Cons: Has some problems with sharing same outlet as a noisy product (big computer, vacuum cleaner), sharing a extension cord or sharing a power bar. Best performance is plugged into it's own outlet. Instruction were so weak, I ignored them and it went fine, pretty well plug in, use...
This review is from: NETGEAR Powerline AV200 Mbps Mini Adapter Kit (XAVB1301), up to 200Mbps
Pros: Easy setup, just plugged in and they worked. It is slower on internet speed test but still pulling in over 30mbps which is fine for streaming movies and I expected it to be slower than the systems connected to my modem/router.
This review is from: NETGEAR Powerline AV200 Mbps Mini Adapter Kit (XAVB1301), up to 200Mbps
Pros: Worth the purchase and work for all DVR streaming (Netflix, Vudu and all Smart TVs)
Cons: Instructions and how to setup was just not clear enough.
Other Thoughts: I had a set of these working fine for a year or so. Connected my Tivo to the network. Wanted to get another pair for the other Tivo (and another Pair is not required). I didn't understand that you ONLY need a pair, and then you can buy individual packs for each additional internet component. So I tried to install another pair (the exact same way). Well it will just bring down your internet. This was killing me. I must had read the instructions over a million times. I clearly understood ONLY after making a mistake and looking at an app I installed called NetGenie. In this app if graphically shows the powerline adapters connection flow. (If you do not have Netgear I would have never figured this out.) I left my original pair connected and only connected my 3rd PWRline plugged in when I saw that you do not use PAIRS but just add on. Now it makes sense why they sell this as pairs and individuals... It would be brilliant if these manufactures would CLEARLY spell this out on the QUICK INSTALL guides and not buried into the details when I finally found that statement. A
This review is from: NETGEAR Powerline AV200 Mbps Mini Adapter Kit (XAVB1301), up to 200Mbps
Pros: Good throughput 53mhz & 77 mhz
Cons: Instructions are poorly written. They sell in pairs, but if are buying to add on, it does not explain that only one is a parent and all the rest are siblings. I thought each pair had to be setup together. Finally figured out the instructions and made them work.
Other Thoughts: I understand the pair purchase (most people will only use a pair). They are setup as Parent-child, where I though it was a pitcher-catcher relationship.
This review is from: NETGEAR Powerline AV200 Mbps Mini Adapter Kit (XAVB1301), up to 200Mbps
Pros: Works as specified. Very good 200 Mbps trough-put. Price. Netgear reliability.
Cons: Shouldn't be plugged into power strips - instead, plug directly into the wall. Disturbed the Wifi connections - slow or even dropped.
Other Thoughts: If you have no Ethernet wired connection and no WiFi, this is an excellent solution. It was just not for me. I will continue to buy Netgear products.

This review is from: NETGEAR Powerline AV200 Mbps Mini Adapter Kit (XAVB1301), up to 200Mbps
Pros: I have a few of these in a few small businesses. The oldest is more than a year. So far, I've had no issues with them whatsoever - even through a surge protector. I get ~140mbps when plugged directly into the wall, and ~50mbps when through a $10 surge strip (which you should never use to begin with...). One allows good database connection for the computer on the 1st floor, while the remainder of the network is on the third. Client wouldn't allow me to run ethernet, since the building is an old home used as office space.
Cons: None so far... Not cheaper?
Other Thoughts: For a device that only has a wired connection, or for the computer that doesn't have wireless, or to extend a wired network when you can't run a long cable, here you go!
This review is from: NETGEAR Powerline AV200 Mbps Mini Adapter Kit (XAVB1301), up to 200Mbps
Pros: Very quick to setup, Comes with everything you need, Not overpriced, Cheaper than having an Ethernet run through your wall
Cons: None yet
Other Thoughts: Was having some serious wifi issues in my house, and after having comcast come out for the thrd time to only tell me once again that there was probably interference, and kept making excuses on why they didnt have time to just put a new outlet for my router in a different room, I said enough is enough.
I recently discovered this Product and did some research of my own and boy im glad i found out about this solution.
If you are like me and have every road block you can think of on internet issues i.e. where everything is mounted they cant drill through from the side that it would need to come from blah blah blah, then seriously consider the setup i am about to tell you.
I have my comcast modem/router plugged into the first outlet and my second outlet coming out in my kitchen area hooked up to my Linksys router. Granted it cuts the speed down ever so slightly when doing a speed test wired straight into the router but is still much faster in gaming online.
After months and months of frustration with my internet and dropped games on my new ps4, long buffer times with my hulu and netflix (15 feet from where my Modem/Router was set up) i finally found the perfect product for me.
This review is from: NETGEAR Powerline AV200 Mbps Mini Adapter Kit (XAVB1301), up to 200Mbps
Pros: Plug and play Works with other devices that are 802.3
Cons: none yet
Other Thoughts: You can use powerline adapters to set up a wired home network- which is a lot faster than wireless. Just plug one unit into your router and plug the other into your device. No setup- just plug and ply.
