Would not work driving POS1000 splitter. Tech support slow to respond. Offered BETA firmware upgrade. Dont have time to beta test for them. This review is from: NETGEAR ProSAFE 24-Port Gigabit PoE Smart Managed Switch with 8 PoE+ Ports 192w (GS728TP) - Lifetime Warranty Pros: Fast switch. Great management UI. Super-easy install. Cons: The SmartControl software didn't handle my multiple-adapter machine very well. It would start on the wrong adapter, so I'd go to Adapters tab and change to the correct adapter, it asks to apply the change and close the software, which I agree to, but then when I re-open the software, it defaults to the incorrect adapter again. I got around the problem by disabling all the other adapters, but obviously this should work the way it presents itself. Also, all of the downloadable firmware versions on NetGear's site are a full version behind the reported firmware that's on the switch. I'm okay with a switch shipping with the latest and greatest firmware, but why wouldn't the newer firmware be present on the site for download? Does this mean I can't rely on Netgear to give me firmware updates? Other Thoughts: This switch was installed in a wall-mount rack, so the included power cord couldn't be used, luckily I had a right-angle cord on hand. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful. Awesome arrangement of lights, easily tell what ports are live, and what ports are pushing faster speeds. Cons: All the ports are shoved to the right side. the switch it replaced was on the left side, had to finagle some some cords to make the short ones reach. None really, I'm going to buy 2 more for backups at different locations they're so good! Other Thoughts: Now my office has phones that are powered again! 3 out of 3 people found this review helpful.
