5 out of 5 eggsSimple little hub/switch

Pros: Inexpensive. Really easy to set up right out of the box. Plug-and-play. Tiny (about the size of a deck of cards). Easy to read LED lights.

Cons: A little lightweight and flimsy. I had to secure it to a desktop with double-sided tape to keep it in place.

Other Thoughts: It doesn't get much simpler and easier than this. I used it to attach 4 laptops to my bigger network switch on a single port.

5 out of 5 eggsSurprisingly Good Quality

Pros: -Inexpensive
-Decent Quality
-Excellent performance

Cons: None that I could think of.

Other Thoughts: I have 6 of these daisy chained in a computer-lab running 24 computers. Simultaneously streaming youtube videos in 720p lag free as a test. Quite a surprise. Seeing how it tests out on a bitcoin mining network!

5 out of 5 eggsGood product, but buy on sale

Pros: Worked great out of the box with no problems.

Cons: Asking price way to high on this type of product. (Cheaper can be had at literally any brick-and-mortar store.)

Other Thoughts: Got it on sale for <$10, so great buy.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect and cheap

Pros: Great price. Work perfectly. Look good.

Cons: None for me. If you have a 100Mbps connection or more, then you might want to spend extra to get something that can handle the speed.

Other Thoughts: I have 4 of these switches to hardwire different rooms in my house and they work fine. I bought 2 of these from Best Buy before and was about to get 2 more until I realized Newegg is WAY cheaper (the price of 2 of these from Newegg is still cheaper than what Best Buy wants for only 1). I have a 30Mbps connection in my house and these can handle it. If you need to extend your router, go for these.

5 out of 5 eggsIdeal For Basic Home Use

Pros: The switch is inexpensive and seems to be reliable so far. I am using it as a switch on my test bench where I work on computers regularly, and it is working great so far.

The switch is also very aesthetically appealing with its sleek white case.

Pretty much the best thing a switch can do is stay out of your way and not obstruct traffic flow through your network, this switch works just great.

Cons: It’s only a 100Mbps switch, in this day and age with some Internet connections exceeding that speed, I do believe 1Gbps should be a standard on everyone’s network.

As the switch is very lightweight, sometimes it seems like pull on the cables tends to move the switch around on the desk. Maybe not the best switch for some desk locations where it might get pulled off on to the floor easily.

Other Thoughts: If you are in need of a very cheap switch to extend your network and your network is not extremely high traffic, this is ideal.

In some areas of my network at home I would never consider putting this switch there because of the 100Mb bottleneck.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Value

Pros: This unit is very inexpensive. It appears to be very good quality considering what you pay for it. Throughput may be fast enough for your applications, especially if your networking consists mainly of surfing the Internet and not much local file transfer or multi-media traffic. As with any unmanaged switch, setup is just plug and play. This switch is very energy efficient, consuming little power. It will auto-detect crossover cables.

Cons: The obvious con is that it is only fast Ethernet, meaning the speed is capped at 100 Mbps. Many ISPs are now offering speeds over 100 Mbps which would make this switch a bottleneck. It doesn’t come with an Ethernet cable, so make sure you have a spare cable ready to go. From what I can tell, this unit seems to come in white only which may be a problem for those really concerned with aesthetics.

Other Thoughts: The switch is small and light, making it easy to hide under or behind a desk, even if it is just dangling in mid-air with a short cable. Throughput is about what you would expect for a fast Ethernet switch. In my benchmarking I was able to push the switch to about 85 Mbps.
This unit would be perfect for a network segment that supports slower devices like printers, scanners, dumb terminals, thin clients, etc. I've had it driving my main printer now for several weeks with no problems whatsoever.
Gigabit switches have been expensive historically, but that is starting to change, sometimes on sale now for $20 or so. That makes the price difference minimal considering gigabit switches offer speeds up to 10x faster.
If all you need is fast Ethernet, this is a good switch at a good price.

Pros: Extremely inexpensive. Worked out of the box, plug & play on.

Cons: it does not weigh very much. Bouble sided tape fixes that problem

5 out of 5 eggsQuick ship, works fine

Pros: Shipped from the same town I live in, so I had it in 2 days.
Works fine, so now my DVD, Tivo, and Roku can all stream videos without breaking up or stopping to buffer, like they did over Wifi from my comcast router.

Cons: No cons

5 out of 5 eggsWONDERFUL

Pros: Gave me an additional internet connection, to an HDDVR, without any slowdown. The 10/100 speed worked fine for my needs.

Cons: Very lightweight plastic, moves around a lot. I used some Velcro to put it where I needed it. Some rubber feet would have been nice also. The prongs on the power adapter should face the other way. The adapter took up 3 plugs on my power strip. I ended up using an extension cord.

Other Thoughts: Delivered 10/100 speed to the computer in my bedroom (Over a 75 foot cat 6 Ethernet cable from the router in the living room). We recently added a TV with an HDDVR so we needed a second connection. I was also able to view movies streamed from my bedroom to living room using Plex while surfing and streaming movies from On-Demand to the HDDVR with no slowdown at all and the movies on the living room TV using Plex, (Blu-Ray) looked outstanding without pixilation .
