4 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Works great, ran a line from router to my room.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Make sure that your Ethernet cord wasn't bought off unverified seller for 10$.

2 out of 5 eggsGood while it lasted

Pros: Worked fine for 5 months. Purchased on deal for $20.

Cons: The switch seemed to work fine for about 5 months, then suddenly not. I recently used it to wire all connections through powerline and direct wire, it worked great for a couple of hours then suddenly I was getting ~1MB/s download speeds on my main computer. I disconnected and connected directly to the router, instantly had full connection speed 250-300 MB/s. I reconnected the computer to the switch, removed the powerline connection and still had the same issue. The speeds improved somewhat, 11 MB/s, then returned to 1 MB/s on the second test. I may have been the source of the problem but I don't see how and the switch is certainly useless for my purposes now. Going to try another brand's switch and if I run into the same problem I will be fairly certain it's some mistake on my part. I run other netgear equipment and haven't run into any issues. Hopefully they won't develop.

Other Thoughts: If it does turn out to be an issue of the switch being overloaded, I would knock it down to one egg since it should be able to handle the load based on specs. I currently only have two pc's running and two powerline adapters with none of the connected components powered on. Definitely don't think I should be getting such little connectivity through it.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice switches

Pros: Small and compact 8 port switch. Very nice speed between my devices

Cons: Plastic and white

Other Thoughts: I normally work with the rack mount cisco or netgear equipment but I needed gigabit in a location where I couldn't get a rack mount installed. This was perfect. I bought them on sale and haven't looked back.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks fine- just what I needed

Pros: Small, lightweight. Works.

Cons: doesn't distinguish between 100 and 1000, white color. Not a big deal for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product that get me up to speed

Pros: As will all switches, easy setup and use.
Got internet speed bumped up to 150Mbps and needed to replace my 10/100 switch. Put this in and we're flying now.

Cons: None, doing what it needs to do.
Cord design could be a pain depending on your setup because of how it faces, but that's true for everything. Was perfect for me.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Switch

Pros: Cheap.
Aesthetically pleasing.
Didn't die after a month.

Cons: Could use better status LEDs.

Other Thoughts: Still working well after a couple months.
Perfect switch for home/SOHO applications.
Was able to get file transfers consistently over 100MB/s.

4 out of 5 eggsNice little switch for home or small business

Pros: Small footprint, low power consumption, stylish white case, auto-uplink, decent-sized wall wart, good transfer speeds, 8 gigabit ports, great price point.

Cons: Status LEDs are almost worthless. Would have been nice to see a port up/speed LED, and a separate LED for traffic that flashed faster for more data transfer. Very light, easily falls off where you place it due to it's lack of weight when multiple cables are plugged in (you need to think of your wire management with this switch).

Other Thoughts: I'm using this on my workbench where I previously had a 10/100 switch. I'm able to pull files down from our server rack at the rated gigabit speed (I saturate the uplink port) to multiple machines when doing new setups. This is a great little switch, and with the addition of velcro it will no longer slide away and fall behind my workbench.

5 out of 5 eggsSeriously???

Pros: Price, 10/100/1000, ports on back not front.

Cons: The color of the box it came in was very disappointing: purple and orange! The case should really be 3mm wider than it is. It didn't come with pretty decals, a clock, or even a compass on it.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for two reasons: primarily to ridicule the other reviewers that b!tc# about the color and/or "feel" of the thing - how a$inine! The other reason is because at this price, it's a fantastic backup to have laying around if it's ever needed.
