5 out of 5 eggsWorked no problem right out of the box

Pros: Very well build. Case is metal not plastic.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: I would buy another one if I need another. Have had very good luck with Netgear products.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid & Dependable

Pros: Solid feeling steel construction, no light-weight plastic clinging to the body of this switch. Easily mounted to wall or placed on desktop with full Gigabit capability. Power adapter is a reasonable size, it is not a "brick". Has a Kensington lock connection and is a nice neutral grey color.

Cons: No real cons.

Other Thoughts: You really can't go wrong with this purchase if you need a wired switch. I often wonder why they cannot make a switch that allows you to "turn off" the link and activity leds, it would be a nice feature if you need to place this in or around your Home Entertainment System and you wouldn't need to put electrical tape over then to darken them ... just a thought.

5 out of 5 eggsExtremely easy to set up and works right out of the box!

Pros: It feels like a really high quality product and it's very easy to set up. Just connect it to your router and then connect whatever device you'd like to the switch! No complaints here.

Cons: It doesn't come with an ethernet cable?

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Quality

Pros: - works right out of the box!
- on/off switch is on the backside. So you don't have to unplug it.
- Metal sides, but has a plastic front piece, that you can see from the picture.
- bright GREEN lights
- $29.99 is a steal of a deal

Cons: - 8 ports is fine for my household, but I imagine others will jump to 16+ or more.

Other Thoughts: Automatic IP addressing is nice. I believe that's because its an unmanaged switch. I'm new to this, so I didn't know the difference. But for my household, I have the Modem --> NetGear WiFi Router --> to this switch. And it works perfectly. No configuration needed whatsoever.

3 out of 5 eggsProblematic cable management

Pros: Decent switch

Cons: Why does Netgear design these switches with the ports on one side and the power connector on the other? Makes for poor cable management no matter where the switch is mounted.

1 out of 5 eggsWon't buy again

Pros: None

Cons: Replaced a GS108Tv2 (Kick *** 8-port) because I needed it for something else. Instantly crashes the whole network. Leave it powered, not doing anything for a day... same thing. Put GS108T back in, every thing is fine. Flat layer 2, no funny business in my network (yet).

Other Thoughts: Spend the money and get a product that works. I am a subject matter expert in networking, and I should have known better.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Sturdy basic Gbit Switch

Pros: Metal case is a plus. It gives some physical weight and does not move around on the table easily. It is just a PnP device as far as
installation goes.

Cons: This is not a "con" For me it'd be better if all the connections
(LAN cable, power connector) were on one side.

Other Thoughts: Made a good decision to purchase this over little less expensive
ones with plastic enclosure.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for Home/Small office

Pros: Price is excellent.
Footprint is small.
Color, it's grey but much darker that the picture depicts.
Looks great. Texture, this has a grip surface so it wont slip.
Perfect for calloused hands.

The beauty of unmanaged switch Just plug and go. Sometimes you don't want to flood your router with all that traffic.

Was able to handle the pc,laptop (torrents) , ipads, voip phone cisco xbox 360, xbox one, and router.

Data Transfers were smooth between PC's. No lag or stuttering from voip phone.

No bottle necks from this switch.

Cons: Very bright LED lights. You may want to cover with electrical tape

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a switch for small /home office look no further.
