5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Unmanaged Switch

Pros: - Great Switch, Easy Setup
- Works with all devices, (Smart TV, Win7 PCs, Android OS devices, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS)
- Of course half of what I listed above is connected wirelessly through the 54 MBps Linksys Wireless router
- It is simply plug n' play, and it will work well with any router, simply flawless.
- Seems to be built sturdy, so should be reliable for the long run
- Comes with software for any information or driver installation that you may need, but most likely not, it should work as plug n' play and you are ready to go.

Cons: - None, it stays a little warm, but that is expected.

Other Thoughts: Great switch, for any home network.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: Plugged it in and it works as expected.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I have this attached to my entertainment center to link my tv, receiver(netflix/pandora) and directv receiver to my router for an internet connection to each. I've noticed since I switched from wireless to a wired connection that I experience almost no buffering issues with netflix. With the previous wireless connection we had it seemed common to have multiple buffering issues during each show/movie.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes exactly what it should

Pros: Works exactly as described.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This did not matter to me, but the unit I received is all black. The picture shows it being part blue and part black.

Just an FYI... Even though this is an 8 port switch, if you use the uplink port, such as connecting this device to a cable modem for internet, you can connect 7 devices. I only needed 5, but if you buy this thinking you can use it on 8 devices and still plug the switch into an internet connection, you will be disappointed.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as would be expected

Pros: Easy to configure, works out of box. I bought it back in 8/2010 and it still works fine. I just needed to be able to connect a bunch of computers to my FIOS router and this did the trick just fine.

Cons: None that I can think of.

5 out of 5 eggsCheap and it works

Pros: It was pretty cheap, plugged it in and ran right away. No complaints. It works.

Cons: It has 9 ports on the back, but once up link is hooked-up port number 8 is not useable. Not deducting an egg since I read this issue in the reviews prior to buying. This switch went on a small network I set up at my parents house so it's no huge deal, but since there are 9 ports to begin with, it'd be nice to have access to all 8 with up link plugged in.

Other Thoughts: My parents have owned a Linksys wireless router for the past 8 years and it's still working without a hitch. Working 24/7 the entire time, I've only had to restart it maybe 2 times it's entire life. I've also outfitted my home network with linksys gear and added this switch to my parents network. Ive never had a problem with any Linksys products and will continue buying them. You guys have yourself a lifelong customer.

5 out of 5 eggsGood switch, especially for what I paid

Pros: I have one of these connected to a Linksys RVS4000 router, and it handles all the 100 Mbit devices on hand with no problem. Not much else to say.

Cons: It has port 8 as the uplink port. I use port 1 as uplink when given a choice, and as it happens, the gigabit spec includes auto crossover. My RVS4000 has gigabit ports, so connecting one of its ports to port 1 on this switch gives an uplink automatically.

Not sure why some reviewers bellyache about having to use a port for uplinking. How else is it gonna work? All of my router's ports are in use as such, since I have this switch, a Netgear 8 port gigabit switch, a Linksys PLE200 powerline box, and an Apple Time Capsule connected to my router's four ports.

Other Thoughts: When Circuit City bit it and they were selling off all the leftovers in their stores, I found this switch in a box of random cables and junk. A little more searching turned up the power adapter. When I carried my armload of stuff up to the checkout, they asked for a whole two dollars for the switch. Sweet.

5 out of 5 eggsNetwork Switch

Pros: Simple and efficient installation. It just works

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Bought this to put in my cable connection closet. It is small and runs very cool even at high network speeds making it a perfect fit for this purpose.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Piece of Electronic!

Pros: *Solid Piece
*Easy to use
*Comes with CAT5E Cable
*Ton of LEDs(Looks All Cool and Professional)

Cons: *Gets kind of warn(no big deal)
*No on/off switch

Other Thoughts: I don't think it would've been to hard to add a little on/off switch. At night, I like to turn it off to let it cool.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes the Job

Pros: Does what it's upposed to do. I personally have had great success with Linksys products, and this was no exception. Plugged it in and it worked out of the box. My Linksys router upstream from the switch is 10-years old.

Cons: As some reviewers have said, it's really a 7-port switch since you lose one port when you use the Uplink port.
