5 out of 5 eggsIt's all good

Pros: Solid Switch, solid build as well. I have these in all three sizes (5, 8 and 16 ports) and never had an issue with these switches. The 16 port switch is nice as it stacks with the WRT54G router - too bad Linksys / Cicso have put away with this nice feature.

Cons: It has a black front, not blue.

Other Thoughts: I have used this series of routers, switches, cable modems and access points for years now and never had any real issues.

5 out of 5 eggs9+ years of small office use, still going strong

Pros: 16 ports, rock solid reliability, $60.

Cons: From my perspective, there are no cons when considering this unit's features, reliability and product longevity. Yes, we wish this thing had gigabit capabilities, but reliable 16-port gigabit switches just aren't a reality at this price point.

Other Thoughts: I can't vouch for the fact that Linksys is still using the same components as those used in to manufacture the unit my office purchased over 9 years ago. That said, the fact they're still making this model is remarkable.

5 out of 5 eggsIt just won't die!

Pros: 8 years old and still rock solid.

Cons: A little long in the tooth maybe?

Other Thoughts: This switch has been the anchor of the network it was originally installed in for 8 years!!! It, along with its little 5 port brother, are time tested products. A switch is usually only noticeable in a network when there is some sort of problem with it. This thing has been all but invisible for 8 years despite daily heavy traffic.

5 out of 5 eggsLinksys QUALITY!

Pros: Great Reliable Switch !!

Cons: Cost - Switch is a little costly, At this price it should have Gigabit speed...

Other Thoughts: This is my 3rd of this Model over the years... What a GREAT Switch.

By the way... This is my third switch total… All Three are still working on my networks after years... Can you say QUALITY!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Unit

Pros: I've had this unit over 2 years now and have had no issues at all and no dead ports. That's saying a lot because the area I'm in has frequent power outages and lightning storms that have killed off other equipment. The unit stacks well and looks good with other Linksys products made at the time. 16 ports, no waiting.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I wish Linksys would have kept with this stackable design. I want to upgrade to 10/100/1000 and 802.11n but the units don't look as nice.

5 out of 5 eggsJust happy that it works!

Pros: I have used several of these in the past including some that were uplinked and the only problem I have ever had was a dead transformer on one. It was in warranty so the guy I woke up in the far east sent me a new one within a week.

Cons: It is stackable but not wall mountable. Luckily, the plastic feet come off so I drew a template and ran screws through the injection molding holes on the feet then placed the switch back on the feet that were s-c r-e-w-e-d (<--newegg blacklisted this word) to the wall and Voila! A wall mounted switch!

Other Thoughts: I hope they don't discontinue a good thing...

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: 16 ports. Just plug it in and it works.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Keep in mind that Linksys has 2 case sizes for their line of blue/purple switches/routers/access points. This one is the bigger size. Stacks perfectly with a WAP54G or Linksys' 8 port router. Their 5 port switch and 4 port routers are the smaller size.

5 out of 5 eggsNow I have three.

Pros: An excellent product overall. It says what it does and does what it says.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought a third unit for my living room's wall unit. I have two Slingboxes which are nowhere near my DSL gateway and I anticipate buying a Blu-ray player in the near future (it's equipped with a network port).

Since I like this switch it was an easy decision to purchase another one. Three is the magic number as they say!
