2 out of 5 eggsDied for apparently no reason

Pros: Worked fine until it didn't. No setup other than plugging in cables.

Cons: - Before I begin I should note that the switch was plugged into a mid-level UPS and used in a small corporate office. Network traffic is very light.
- Worked for about 1.5 years then one day all the connections fail (power light still on) but it wouldn't recognize that the cables were even connected.
- It did work flawlessly before that point.

Other Thoughts: It was sitting next to a WRT54G that has been plugging away for over 5 years.

2 out of 5 eggsDevice Failed after 4 years

Pros: Worked flawless for 4 years.

Cons: Device failed. I run all of my computers and support equipment behind power filtering UPS systems which protect against brown outs and over voltage. Out of 3 computers, printer, modem, router, speakers, monitors, KVM, TV, stereo, BRDVD, CD, this is the only component that has failed.

Other Thoughts: Gave it two eggs instead of one because it did work for 4 years. Have not troubleshooted to see if it was the power block or the unit which as failed.

4 out of 5 eggsJust Works

Pros: Works as advertised. I've got a PS3, X360, TiVo, printer, iMac, and two PCs all communicating with each other and the internet via a combination of Linksys/Cisco products - this, an EG008W, and a 54G wireless router who's model escapes me. (My whole house is hardwired.)

Cons: I really wish they'd include brackets and screws for wall-mounting these things.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Product

Pros: 10/100/1000 seems solid thus far. Have not had any issues with devices connecting at 1000.

Cons: None thus far.

Other Thoughts: Purchased this switch to replace a 5 port Linksys 10/100 switch connected to a 10/100/1000 wireless N router, also Linksys. Everything has been solid and communicating at 1000. No noticeable performance loss for the extra hop between the devices when transferring files, or other data via an application (games, database queries, etc). Very happy with this device.

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointing - Disconnected

Pros: Looks Nice, Pretty lights...

Cons: The Gig line does not work, will not stay connected, get constant disconnects, had two connected with 100ft of cable between them, they won't even recognize each other. Can plug a 100meg hub in and it works, but still disconnects every 60 to 90 seconds. I have never seen a batch of hubs with packet loss. I have 3 of them.

Other Thoughts: Not happy.

3 out of 5 eggsProbably a Defect

Pros: It lit up when I plugged it in. Other than that, there really isn't much to this unit. You can heat your house with it. :)

Cons: This unit is more than likely a defect. It actually ran slower than my 100mbps connection did. Pings across this switch were all over the place. Transfer speeds across the switch were about 8% of advertised speed. It gets really hot. Hopefully its a defect. Getting my money back to buy something else. Not typical Linksys performance in my opinion.

Other Thoughts: Just dislike having to wait to send it back, and get my refund, then buy something new. Takes to long. Never had any problem with any other piece bought from Newegg. Thumbs up to these guys/gals.

4 out of 5 eggsworks great

Pros: It does just what it is supposed to do. I have this connected to 4 Gbit servers uplinked to a Gbit port on a Dell PowerConnect switch that runs the rest of the office. Since installing this all complaints about slow access to the file servers has gone away. We now easily get multiple full 100Mbit connections to the fileservers with no bottlenecks.

Cons: Not sure if it's really a con, but the power connector is really on the wrong side of the switch for the way the plug is angled. If you want the cord to go behind the switch it lays right across the cables plugged into the ports.

Other Thoughts: Have had it plugged in and running constantly for two days and haven't had any issues or heat problems like some of the other posts have suggested.

1 out of 5 eggsSecond DOA! Whats up with that?

Pros: Not sure what to say here, I need to get one that works out of the box. Newegg is Aces! I can't believe that I have to call them and ask for a second RMA....the 39.99 (with free shipping) makes it worth the effort...but come on a switch....my 5 year old workgroup switch still wirks great.

Cons: Agai the tech Support.....I managed to stay cool through the entire process doing a Limbo to connect and dis-connect patch cables to just prove that YES a second bad switch...outcome I have to dump on a Class act like Newegg because Linksys Quality Control is in the pooper!

Other Thoughts: Thankyou Newegg...your the best thing that could happen to the Internet!

1 out of 5 eggsDOA, linksys Quality has really gone down

Pros: None, its a switch, it either works or does not,

Cons: Linksys Customer Support, what a very confused bunch....7 calls, two hang ups and two team leaders (not Supervisors)....wow...what happened?

Other Thoughts: I have a lot of Linksys stuff....it has always been remarkably reliable...I don't know what to say....I am completely baffled.
