The LINKSYS WRT300N Wireless-N Broadband Router with SpeedBooster is an all-in-one Internet router that enables you optimize your home network. The Wireless Access Point lets you connect without wires, a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch connects with Ethernet networks, and the router allows your entire wireless network to be connected to broadband.

The WRT300N also utilizes advanced MIMO (Multi-In, Multi-Out) technology, for exceptionally fast data transfers and wireless interoperability at the highest speeds with your broadband connection. The broadband router allows lightning fast data transfers along with 802.11n compatibility, so your home network is ready for upcoming technological standards.

It also can work with 802.11b/g standards can be used with any compatible device. It helps you run your home/office wireless network's connections, while providing enough bandwidth for all your needs, simultaneously, at any distance or location in the home or office. • newegg Wireless-N With Wireless-N (draft 802.11n), the farther away you are, the greater the speed advantage. Wireless-N works great with standard Wireless-G and B equipment, but when both ends of the wireless link are Wireless-N, the router can increase the throughput by doubling the radio band, yielding up to 12 times the speed of standard Wireless-G.
  • newegg MIMO Technology MIMO technology uses multiple radios to create a robust signal that travels up to 4 times farther than 802.11g products and reduces dead spots.
  • newegg Connects with Centrino The Linksys WRT300N Wireless-N broadband router provides seamless wireless connection to your Intel Centrino Mobile-based notebook for accelerated file transfer speed, uninterrupted steam video enjoyment and faster, smoother net gaming experience.

3 out of 5 eggsLate Review

Pros: Good while lasted

Cons: Died 2 years after use. Very odd issue of dropping packets along with extremely terrible latency. Believe the issues were related to the security settings, but the changes only temporarily resolved the issues.

2 out of 5 eggsBetter options out there

Pros: When working the router has a good range and great speed.

Cons: The router consistently needs to be reset because it loses connection to our cable modem.

Other Thoughts: I live in a fraternity. Old building with thick walls. The signal reaches the whole house which is a definite plus. However, I think our issues stem from the number of simultaneous users. During the day (ie peak usage) it needs resetting at least once an hour

4 out of 5 eggsOverall - Good

Pros: Easy Setup (if you know what you are doing) - plenty of setup options - Works with everything I've thrown at it

Cons: I have had to perform a soft reset about 1 time per month. Not a big deal - all the settings are saved.

Other Thoughts: I have not noticed the range issues that others have mentioned - I own a computer business, therefore I get a dozen pc's a week in the shop and I have never had one not connect right up to the router. Xbox live has not had any issues either. I also use it for my Windows Home server - setup was a snap.

4 out of 5 eggsIf you aren't stupid, its great!!

Pros: Three antennas, great browser set up, lots of security options.

OPTIONS!

Cons: Range is a little disappointing for Draft-N. Mind you I have three set up in a roaming situation....

Other Thoughts: Linksys support is NOT very good. You feel like you're the one telling them what to tell you. Or asking for answers...

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid!

Pros: Works with line of sight and roughly within 30 feet from router, given that there aren't too many walls.

Cons: First off: If you play XBOX LIVE, you MUST avoid this router. Unable to get NAT type out of strict and has a serious knack for dropping you from online games over XBL.

As for anyone else, I can't recommend this router either. Signal strength varied from good to excellent (computer is down one floor, about 30 feet from the router) but don't be fooled. Even with an "excellent" connection, I would see the connection speed mostly be below the maximum of 270mb/s. This doesn't seem like much of an issue but when it read anything BUT 270mb/s the connection to the router/internet would drag, sometimes taking minutes to load any website. In addition, internet connection would randomly drop off completely and would have to restart the router. I even bought a draft-n linksys adapter to try to solve the problem but it didn't. Linksys tech support is useless.

Other Thoughts: Recently purchased D-Links Draft Xtreme N Gaming Router. Works perfectly with XBL and all the computers in my house.

2 out of 5 eggsA Bad Choice

Pros: Good when it works. Nice configuration features.

Cons: Unlike other routers I've had, this one's very finicky about the type of adapter you use. Alternately connects then drops out. Very Poor penetration through walls. Worked horribly with a Belkin adapter even though signal strength indicated was high.
I was tempted to buy a linksys adapter but I think I've had enough with this brand.

5 out of 5 eggsSpeed without signal

Pros: I beleive the speed is important. This is a very tough house to get signal in. To much brick and concrete including concrete roughing tiles. With this unit and the WUSB300N adapter even though the signal strength was still low the extra speed meant we were seeing 54mbps through put which is very exceptable. Also made other G products perk up and start working at reasonable speeds.

Cons: None, setup was easy.

5 out of 5 eggsLong Range

Pros: This is a very easy router to set up and get running.
Got full bars on all laptops I tried, even out on the deck! (At least 60 ft. away) Replaced a WRT54GS with the 7dbi high gain Antenna's and the WRT300N blows it away!!!! (In speed and Range)

Cons: None so far !!!

Other Thoughts: Don't use CD, get the software off the Linksys web site.
It takes time for wireless to adjust itself, just wait for the changes to take effect and you will be fine!!!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Router!!!

Pros: Good speed, range and compatibility with every wireless client I have tried. No speed loss with "G" clients mixed with "N" clients. Mine is hardware V1.1, the best version of this router in my opinion, as it has 8 MB of flash, 32 MB of RAM, a BCM4785 Processor running at 300MHz and Broadcom BGN 3X3 radio. DD-WRT V24SP1 supports this router - I am currently running the "Mega Build" flawlessly.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Have used this with Atheros "N" clients, Marvell "N" clients, Intel "N" and "G" clients and Broadcom "N" and "G" clients with no compatibility issues at all. As stated above - no speed loss on "N" clients with "G" clients mixed. These clients stayed connected at high speeds while transfering large files wirelessly through four walls and an air handler and water heater in line-of-site between the clients and the router. Very impressed with its wireless robustness.
