5 out of 5 eggs10 years and still going strong

Pros: Great connection
Decent speeds
VERY reliable

Cons: 54Mbps is a bit outdated but that's barely a con

Other Thoughts: I have the WMP54GS rather than just the G but I got it when it came out around 10 years ago and it's been with me through 3 computer and still going strong. 54Mbps might be a bit slow for some people but in my area I'd be luck to get more than that plugged directly into the modem so it's perfect. Years ago on XP I had to use the included drivers but Vista, 7, and 8 all detect it out of the box and it works perfectly. Linux is a different story and you'll have to install the broadcom drivers before you can use it.

Pros: This adapter works good

Cons: Even after you take off the antenna there is a little bit that sticks out. So if your a L.A.N party gammer just don't forget that when you move your pc.

1 out of 5 eggsSlow and unreliable

Pros: I didnt poke my eye out with the giant antenna.

Cons: Connection is slow and unreliable under Windows 7 64bit. Connection randomly drops, huge lag spikes and when it is working I get 1/10th the speed the other 4 computers in the house get (Also wireless). This card is garbage.

1 out of 5 eggsBAD BAD BAD

Pros: None if you use windows 7

Cons: All if you use windows 7

Other Thoughts: I have neve had issues with linksys before this card. Spent and hour or so on the phone with my companies IT dept. They couldnt fix. Then conacted linksys support, they told me point blank this card will not work with windows 7 home premium. How can this be linksys windows 7 isnt some new OS so why cant it work????

3 out of 5 eggsSlow only for Win 7

Pros: Works for Windows 7 after update with Windows Update.

Cons: Slow connection and activity, even after update.

Other Thoughts: I have Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit. It works slowly on there. However, when I tried this card on Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit, my Internet was a lot faster. So, I guess it's because this product cannot support Win 7 fully.

5 out of 5 eggsVenerable Yet Reliable WiFi Adapter

Pros: Reliable, Robust, Economical, Good Speed, Good Range: All of this means I have used this a dozen of this mark of Linksys Wireless Adapters for five years or more in desktop machines I have built for myself, family and friends. It is my WiFi standard and I carry one in my toolbox as a spare/test sub unit...Im lovin' it...

Cons: Used to be half the price it is today...but still worth it for its reliability and range og OS compatibility.

Other Thoughts: Has worked for me on Ubuntu Lucid, Maverick, Mint 9 Isadora, Win Vista, XP, and Win 7 machines.

1 out of 5 eggsRegular drops/ping spikes

Pros: Good for a backup card I suppose...

Cons: with Win 7 drivers (both windows update and Ralink drivers) it I get latency spikes (6000ms) every 5-10 mins. Has happened with 4 different routers (3 were Linksys models)

Other Thoughts: Someone please kill PCI.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent, cheap PCI wifi adapter

Pros: It actually works fine with Windows 7 64-bit. Just follow the instructions from a few pages back and use the RaLink drivers. I get good signal strength and a stable connection.

Cons: Annoying install process. I would expect something from a top networking brand like Linksys/Cisco to work out of the box.

Other Thoughts: It's cheap and it works, just so long as you use the RaLink drivers.
