Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: more than 1 year
Pros: I have owned this adapter since March '08 and it has worked almost without headache on Windows Vista 32-bit Home Premium, Windows Vista 64-bit Ultimate, Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, Ubuntu 9.04, Ubuntu 9.10, and my Nintendo Wii. I was looking around various vendors looking for a good price and noticed all the bad reviews for this product. It isn't perfect, but it's cheap and does a fine job for what it's supposed to do.
Cons: It is a bit bulky for motherboards and cases that put their USB ports too close together. But that's at least partly the fault of the case and motherboard manufacturer, right? It does crash once in awhile and can run hot. So does my quad core CPU.
Other Thoughts: Windows 7 will find a driver for this after installation. Run a cable to your router until you have a Windows 7 installation that isn't connecting to the internet to update. Then unplug the cable and plug this in and Windows 7 will load a working driver. Don't bother going to the Linksys site looking for Windows 7 drivers. Ubuntu and Nintendo Wii are plug and play, though you will likely have to enter your routers security pass key.

Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: All 3 that I purchased take up very little space in my garbage can.
Cons: Have tried multiple MS O/S's (xp pro/home, win7 32 bit/64bit) and have nothing but trouble with these adapters. I have tried mating to Dlink, Cisco, Linksys access points and all have same issues. Regardless of driver version, this adapter consistantly drops connections.
Other Thoughts: One word summary = GARBAGE.
