Pros: It worked with 1 of my 3 machines, but that was the machine I already had connected to the printer!
Cons: It requires software to be installed on all machines. I expected to be able to connect to it like a normal print server, but no luck. Apparently you can assign a permanent IP to the print server and connect to it via IP address, but this is a hack and from what I read it prevents multi-function printers (e.g., with scanning) from doing anything but print.
It failed to work with 2 of my 3 machines, negating the point of buying it! 1 WinXP box (32bit, SP3) could not get the software to successfully install, even though the OS was recently reinstalled. The software told me to manually connect the printer "to install the drivers". Well, it already had the drivers, but I did this anyway and reinstalled the drivers. Still no luck.
But probably worst of all, this thing does not support 64-bit Vista! Come on Linksys, there's no excuse for that. This print server is a new product for goodness sakes!
Other Thoughts: I didn't buy this from Newegg, but I wanted to warn my fellow eggheads to be wary of this sucker.

Pros: well i suppose it works for 32bit OS's...
Cons: yeah... well if you have a 64bit OS... XP, Vista, W7, it wont work at all... even using a static IP and pointing to it with TCPIP seems to print millions of copies till i stop it manually at the printer. been about a year now and Cisco seems to have swept this product under the rug, and are now ignoring it. plus the software is kind or irritating to use. so, yeah i wouldn't buy another one... works for my dad, but its a paperweight for my main PC and laptop...
Other Thoughts: plus this seems to be the only print server from linksys... i was on there website for like 20 min looking for an N one or something... just this one and the WPS54g... oh well, guess ill just hook it to my machine and host it to the network instead -_- wish i would have kept that Emachine for a printer server...

Functional but basic

Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
Pros: Once setup, it works quickly. Setup software works pretty well, but there are some issues.
Cons: Device does not auto-detect print jobs sent over the network. The different network users need to create a connection with the server before they send the print job, an additional step that should be unnecessary. It should be able to switch from user to user automatically, and it doesn't. Also, If you have you network setup to manually assign IP addresses, you will need to reset to DHCP server to assign an address to the PrintServer before it will be found on your network. It doesn't have a default address assigned from the factory. All can be reset once contact is established, but the install software cannot toubleshoot this issue. The install software for resetting the printer drivers is also very slow to perform this seemingly simple function... and it also will freeze if the printserver is connected to a different user. Again, the install software doesn't have an internal trouble shooter to work around this common situation.
Other Thoughts: I would probably try another brand or model if I had to recommend a print server to a friend. The thing works as promised, but the operation and install issues make this unit seem very out of date.
