1 out of 5 eggsFailed outdoors

Pros: Easy to configure

Cons: I have 4 units total. 2 that were in indoors and 2 outdoors. The 2 indoors work fine, but the 2 outdoor ones failed. It started by them randomly reseting back to factory defaults. Then you were unable to connect to them unless you were very close to the units, less than 10 ft. away. I worked with Cisco tech support and they determine it must be a hardware failure and that moisture might have got into the units. That doesn't seem very weather proof to me.

Other Thoughts: If you look on Cisco's website for this device, it says limited LIFETIME WARRANTY, however on New Egg it says 1 year. Guess which one Cisco recognizes. Right, not the one on their website.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid design

Pros: feels like military brick solid and sturdy well sealed. even the reset button sealed under the rubberized screw. i give 5 stars for newegg quick delivery.

Cons: the one i got has a label manufactured in 2007. so its 3 years old. should cost three times less as this is old design.

comew without 48V Power over internet certified cisco injector. for the price it is very bad. i am very dissatisfied because for this kind of price and the fact that it is Cisco product , which means it supposed to be professional, it MUST come with cisco certified POE injector. Cisco sucked in this case.

Other Thoughts: i know this is great product from the technical and quality perspective and i will post results of my tests after i'll dig the cisco certified POE injector for this pricey 3-year old babe;) i am pretty sure i will squeeze 2 miles of connectivity between this babe and my cisco wrt54gl. will post later.

1 out of 5 eggsNot what I had expected.

Pros: Works as a regular AP. PoE can be considered a plus, depending on circumstances. Weather-proof, to the extent of my knowledge.

Cons: Paired it together with HGA9N as "Phil", the previous reviewer had done, and used it in a small business setting. My performance was lackluster, and didn't seem to justify the >$500 I paid for both the AP and antennae. Signal strength barely went past 50 ft. Very unsatisfied.

Also, since the AP required a PoE injector, which was not included so had to go out of my way to get one of those as well. No AC adapter included nor a port for one, so only way to power it is through PoE, which can be inconvenient and expensive.

Other Thoughts: I'm glad things seemed to work out for "Phil", but they did not for me. Look elsewhere for a better, and most likely cheaper, solution. I switched to the WAP4410N, which is already proving to give better results.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi pYRO,

We’re sorry to hear about your experience with the WAP200 and appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback! The user guide (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/access_point/csbap/wap200/administration/guide/WAP200_V10_UG_Rev_B_web.pdf) or support center (http://www.cisco.com/go/smallbizhelp) would have been good resources for assistance with configuring and troubleshooting the device. We also recommend installing the latest firmware to ensure the access point is running the most current software. The firmware is available here: http://www.cisco.com/cisco/software/release.html?mdfid=282414133&softwareid=282463166&release=2.0.2.4&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest&i=rm0.

We’re glad that the WAP4410N better meets your needs!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent and powerful Access Point

Pros: Really intuitive and simple to set settings. I'm using this with the HGA9N external omni-directional antenna. They go hand n hand and work perfectly together. Rugged, great build quality, very solid construction metal enclosure. The mounting bracket is great. Does exactly what an access point is supposed to do. Super convenient PoE.

Cons: honestly, no cons. Besides the price, it's a little pricey. I'm hoping this thing will last longer than 5 years, if so, it will be well worth the price. I have a feeling it will last this long, so no complaints.

Other Thoughts: My church bought this to and a few other access points to provide wireless internet for the entire church property. This access point in conjunction with HGA9N perform better than my expectations. We're using the WET200 bridge in a building ~250 feet away from this HGA9N and we get %100 signal strength. We couldn't be more happier.
