5 out of 5 eggsWEP Works Flawlessly

Pros: A previous review was left regarding WEP encryption not working. I am using WEP encryption without any trouble. I experimented with all available security options, and all worked as expected. Possibly a configuration mistake was made. 100+ yard bridge using 15 dBi parabolic grid replacement antennas with 98% link quality and zero down time in one year. It's a great product if installed properly.

Cons: None at all for me.

Other Thoughts: You must remove both included 1.8 dBi antennas to use an augmented external antenna with higher gain potential, or you will not get the most signal available for your bridge, but that's ok. The radio transmit power of this device is outstanding.

5 out of 5 eggsBest AP Ever

Pros: RELIABILITY, After plugging it in and easily navigating to the config page i was up and running in 5 min. Since then i havent had to reset, reconfig, reboot. It just works. It is hooked to a Hawkins 30ft outdoor cable that is hooked to a Hawkins Directional Antenna pointed at another Hawkins Directional Antenna hooked to another 30ft cable hooked to a Netgear Xtreme router that is 1 mile away. Had to have the interwebz at the 2nd office but still be on the same network.

Cons: I cant think of any.

Other Thoughts: If you need to get internet in a location that you cant get an ethernet cable ran to and you have a wireless network setup, you need this Access Point to bridge the connection. This device receives the wireless signal and puts it back out into ethernet cable.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great for 500 foot extension of network

Pros: After trying three different bridges that did NOT work for our needs, this model has worked GREAT! It easily connects an out building to the main network across a 500 ft open field. Signal is strong and hasn't dropped out. Personally, I think the antennas help make the connection.

Cons: It takes up more space than the smaller bridges we had tried -- requires a 8 inch by 10 inch base and 9 inch height with antennas.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It works! Seems to be smarter than the RV082 Cisco Router it's bridged to.

Cons: Absolutely none. Wait... I should've bought it sooner.

Other Thoughts: I have this set up with the RV082 Router and a WAP2000 access point to bridge a LAN between 2 offices on either sides of the road about 600 ft. apart. The RV082 won't translate NAT past the bridge but the bridge can see everything on the router side. I've messed around with DD-WRT firmware to do this in the past and always met with frustration and failure, this bridge worked the first time I set it up and has worked ever since. If you need a wireless bridge buy this thing, seriously, I wish I had bought it sooner.

1 out of 5 eggsIt may break right after warranty expire 1yr

Pros: It works well and I like the design; however, WPA/2 you will have problem setting up. KISS is the best

Cons: I bought it for my parents, bad choice since they had signal loss at least once a week - had to reboot. After a little over one year it broke. It seems that the hub part of WET200 failed since everything else seems to work power, lights, etc.

Other Thoughts: after all that trying to avoid it I had to run the RJ45 cable 50ft from the Comcast router to the parents desktop. It's cheap and last problematic. However, $112.00+tax poorer since I should have done it at the first place.
Mea Culpa, you can not cheat reality including economics 101.

2 out of 5 eggsFails with WEP

Pros: Unit seems to work well with WPA, havent had any issues getting it connect on my home network.

Cons: The purpose of this was to use in a business setting where we are restricted to using WEP encryption (older hardware that doesnt support WPA). I tried for quite some time to get this to work with WEP, but could not manage to get it on the network. I was able to configure the device properly, but it never recognizes that the network its connecting to is a security enabled network (as depicted in the site survey section of the web interface). I also had a another network engineer troubleshoot the device on a different WEP network, but he had the same frustrating results. While searching the internet for solutions to the problem, I came across other frustrated folks with the same issue. This seems to be a design flaw that Cisco has yet to address. We will be returning this device to find another that actually functions as described with the technologies we employ.

4 out of 5 eggsA great solution

Pros: A client needed to extend their network into an office area with no data cabling. I was able to connect the Linksys to the client's existing wireless network and support 2 computers and a laser printer via CAT5 cabling. I found this to be a much easier to implement and manage solution than fitting all of the devises with wireless interfaces. The install and setup was easy. The Linksys has been stable and reliable for over 2 months so far.

Cons: None
