support
- Pros: it's an update to my previous post
- Cons: try their new support model by downloading the firmware for this product. You will see....
- Other Thoughts: forget it... buy something else
It may break right after warranty expire 1yr
- Pros: It works well and I like the design; however, WPA/2 you will have problem setting up. KISS is the best
- Cons: I bought it for my parents, bad choice since they had signal loss at least once a week - had to reboot. After a little over one year it broke. It seems that the hub part of WET200 failed since everything else seems to work power, lights, etc.
- Other Thoughts: after all that trying to avoid it I had to run the RJ45 cable 50ft from the Comcast router to the parents desktop. It's cheap and last problematic. However, $112.00+tax poorer since I should have done it at the first place.
Mea Culpa, you can not cheat reality including economics 101.
Fails with WEP
- Pros: Unit seems to work well with WPA, havent had any issues getting it connect on my home network.
- Cons: The purpose of this was to use in a business setting where we are restricted to using WEP encryption (older hardware that doesnt support WPA). I tried for quite some time to get this to work with WEP, but could not manage to get it on the network. I was able to configure the device properly, but it never recognizes that the network its connecting to is a security enabled network (as depicted in the site survey section of the web interface). I also had a another network engineer troubleshoot the device on a different WEP network, but he had the same frustrating results. While searching the internet for solutions to the problem, I came across other frustrated folks with the same issue. This seems to be a design flaw that Cisco has yet to address. We will be returning this device to find another that actually functions as described with the technologies we employ.
