4 out of 5 eggsWorks good with DD-WRT

Pros: Priced well for Gigabit support. DD-WRT works great

Cons: Overheats and restarts itself out of the box. Seemed to be fixed by updating to the latest Linksys firmware. I wanted it as a DD-WRT project anyway. With V.2 you have to look up the wiki page and go by that, the DD-WRT main site says that it doesn't work with it.

Other Thoughts: If you know how to either flash it with newer firmware or put DD-WRT on it, then it's a great decently priced gigabit router.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent router

Pros: Replaced my old WRT54g, been working great for almost a year now.
Loaded DD-WRT on it, works great.
Gig ports are fast, wifi works great.

Cons: Factory Linksys firmware.

Other Thoughts: If you purchase this router, put DD-WRT on it.

2 out of 5 eggsLeaky capacitors an Ant magnet

Pros: This item is very easy to install and setup.

Cons: This product had leaky capcitors. Researched the web and it was a known issue that this wireless router had leaky capcitors. I was able to rma it back to Cisco without too much hassle.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked great, for a few months

Pros: Wireless-N, Gigabit Ethernet, can run open source firmware, price I paid ($$)

Cons: Lasted 7 months of regular use, then bricked. Powers up, lights flash, but I can't login to the web UI, will not issue addresses via DHCP, will broadcast SSID but will not accept connections, will not connect to internet

Other Thoughts: Linksys used to be about the best bang for your buck you could buy. Now Cisco are using the Linksys name and legacy to sell cheap garbage at high prices. They don't make 'em like they used to. I think I'll go back to using my 7-year old WRT54G with DD-WRT.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Router Great Price

Pros: Great high speed product.

Cons: The only issue I ran into was the one button automatic setup... All it did was complicate things surprisingly. Reset router back to factory specs and did manual setup in minutes and it was up and running.

Other Thoughts: Sometimes simplification isn't the best idea.

1 out of 5 eggsWould not reccomend

Pros: Good price, Gigabit ports, Looks nice

Cons: Connection slows down quickly. frequently drops the wireless signal. UI does not allow for many options

Other Thoughts: After having this router for only 90 days it started to have problems with the wireless network dropping out randomly.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well, nice open-source router

Pros: - Supports wireless-N and gigabit Ethernet for fast networking
- It's open-source, so you can install 3rd-party firmware such as DD-WRT

Cons: I have a dynamic domain name for a server I run at home, and after upgrading to this router, I could no longer use my domain name to connect to my server from behind my router, even after upgrading the router to the DD-WRT firmware. I'm not sure why that is.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Seems to work well with my computers and gaming systems, both wired and wireless. Haven't had the network drop off/reset like many on here are mentioning. I keep my router away from external power and signal transmission sources as well as other areas prone to high heat.

Cons: Been having some issues with connecting to google.com with every computer connected to the network. Haven't pinpointed this router as the problem but I never had this issue until I installed this router.

Other Thoughts: I don't get as strong of a signal on my 3rd floor like my old linksys antenna type. This has not affected the speed or connect-ability though so no real issues.
Not a bad unit for the price I paid, I would recommend it to friends if they needed a new router.

2 out of 5 eggs1.5 years then poof

Pros: Worked great when I got it, good price, good coverage and speeds

Cons: After 6 months noticed network issues. Thought it was the ISP at first but I found that the unit was resetting. I eventually found that the power plug at back of unit if touched slightly would reset. Fixed by taping it securely & taking weight off cord. Later more funny things happening ..cure...reset router. Becomes more frequent. Now noticing "buzzing" sounds Vonage ip phone system....drops calls for 2 - 3 secs at a time, but no indication of probs on router that I could see. this continued more & more frequently, then this morning completely down. Unplug it then back in....lights for LAN flash normally but power indicator flashing off & on fast. No network found despite LAN lights normal. I go to pull power out of power bar & WALL POWER HEAD DISINTEGRATES IN MY FINGERS!!! Lucky I did not get a shock. Appears that heat in power head disintegrated the plastic and components inside. The buzzing noise was prob surges from head to Router...continually damaging it until "poof"

Other Thoughts: This is my 3rd unit from Linksys. I feel quality is mediocre at best and support is not what it used to but still better than DLink. I think there is inherent problems with power heads that lead to issues with unit. I run a home business and cant be down, will purchase another Linksys, but eventually will move to a commercial grade unit. Wanted to write this so others who are experiencing simialar strange issues might find this usable.
