Pros: Interface is easy to use. Sale price of $50 is reasonable however, The old wrt54g is as good for less $$.
Cons: On sale the price vs performance seemed extraordinary. However, even when paired with the same brand matching model adaptor in an OPEN ROOM with out obstructions I only get 2mb per second throughput. My client has a 150 MB Quickbook file and it takes over 1.5 minutes to open- each change takes almost as long to record/refresh page. This is unacceptable performance. The old WRT54g paired with usb adapters worked as well or better in same location! I altered the encryption from WPA2 to WEP 64 no change. Selected N-only, changed from 2.4ghz to 5k no change. Finally had to run ethernet cable to get acceptable performance. Now with 100mb/s ethernet cable the QB files open almost instantly.
Other Thoughts: Don't upsell your clients and promise any speed gains with this unit- it's no better than a standard G router.

Rating: 1/5Quality of Linksys Routers Tanked
Pros: Used to be great routers
Cons: Since Cisco purchased Linksys the quality of the routers has tanked. Constant rebooting (power cycling to stay connected), DNS issues and lack of firmware updates.
It's not uncommon for these routers to be broken right out of the box.
Other Thoughts: I'm a 15 year on-site computer tech. I used to use linksys routers with out question. I now recommend my costumers get anything else but these.

Pros: it looks good. LAN transfer works at max speed occasionally.
Cons: The router is just garbage. It needs constant restarts (3 times a day) just to maintain what it says it can do. Once or twice a week it just completely turns off and needs a power cycle to start working again. Not sure whether i got a defective one or what not but im told there is nothing wrong with the router. So RMA is no option.
Other Thoughts: Don't buy unless you want a headache 3 or 4 times a day.

Rating: 3/5Not bad for the price
Pros: Once you get DDWRT on this thing it runs like a champ. Haven't had one issue on it the past few days since I installed it.
Cons: Without DDWRT beware. This thing is a piece. Had constant dropped connections. Even had it reset itself to factory defaults when it shut down on me. Install CD was a total FAIL. Don't even bother with it. Range is a little weak has a hard time getting 40% signal with 1 wall and about 35 feet.
Other Thoughts: Gets 3 eggs for the product with ddwrt. Without it I'd give it a -5 eggs.

Pros: These devices work great for people needing multiple wifi spots. Dd-wrt and these devices provide perfect handoff between multiple units. Complete coverage to an office space or high bewilderment home, without paying for ugly difficult to mount decent antennas. You can even authenticate against a RADIUS server.
Cons: Doesn't have antenna connectors... Not a problem considering how relatively cheap it is compared the a decent antenna solution. The newer models have more built in antennas.
Other Thoughts: If you looking todo something cheap and good. Put these in at a company provide excellent coverage all over. They even work swimmingly well in Mac environments. Make sure you actually configure your channel. Its amazing how many people don't do a site survey before setting their wireless channel. I usually go for the cleanest channel with a clean channel above and below. I also use it to manage QoS for wireless traffic giving things like Voice, and Video a +1. Blackberry UMA For The Win.

Pros: Awesome coverage. SUPPORTS DD-WRT Firmware! Making this unit a Gem! Get every advanced features available to high end Cisco series wireless in a $50 wifi router. There is no question this is probably the best value i have seen this decade!
Cons: Dont bring your transmission power up past 90 for dd-wrt. You will melt the bottom of this unit, and it will stop working :)
Other Thoughts: Please don't bother with another wifi if you are a tech savy person who doesn't have a problem doing a 30/30/30 and a firmware update.

Rating: 2/5Gave up on linksys
Pros: Easy to flash dd-wrt.
Cons: Wireless constantly drops off. Have to unplug for a few seconds to get it to work again. dd-wrt firmware does not fix this issue. Also expensive.
Other Thoughts: I have always bought linksys. I had 2 Wireless G routers that worked flawlessly. Got a PS3 and a new Laptop with a wireless N card so I decided to upgrade to N. After A few months with this router I have decided to go with a different brand all together.

Rating: 1/5Had great expectations but severely disappointed
Pros: Sleek design; great finish and styling Easy setup; plug and play; no compatibility issues Familiar web interface for configuration Expanded network range
Cons: Lasted 6 months; dropped DSL connections and self rebooted constantly Extremely unreliable wireless; had to reboot router daily Very long delay in establishing PPOE link to ISP
Other Thoughts: Had a lot of confidence and hope given brand name but severely disappointed Actually shocked that any item associated with Cisco could be such garbage Cannot return to store now as past 1 month period Will attempt compensation from Linksys but not hopeful – buyer beware, brand means nothing

Rating: 2/5A bummer from Linksys
Pros: Looks great, small, no antennas. After using the DD-WRT firmware it helped stabilize the router and speed it up pretty good.
Cons: Biggest con for me is #1, everytime I lose power I lose the router. Lights flash on and off all together on the router and it never boots up. I have to power it down several times to "wake it up" if you will to where it does the self test and begins functioning again. This didn't matter what firmware I installed. It's getting returned today finally. Also, router did not work very well with updated OEM firmware. Worked better with DD-WRT

Rating: 5/5Great Router!!!
Pros: This rounter works as advertised, both DSL or Cable ISP!
Cons: Bad Rep ... Otherwise ... None what-so-ever!!
Other Thoughts: I purchased my first WRT160N on sale (new) at a military exchange in early 2009 out the door for $44 ... I almost didn't after reading some of the reviews here ... glad I read between the lines!! Since I've purchased (from Newegg) and set up several for friends and family, last one this past April. This router has always performed 100% for me. I have never experiened any of the problems described ... even on my cheap laptop I use outside in my workshop 150 ft from my house.
