Manufacturer Limited Warranty period (parts): 1 year
Manufacturer Limited Warranty period (labor): 1 year
Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: Small, nice looking, wireless-n, fast
Cons: Linksys firmware was abysmal. Luckily, somebody released a DD-WRT version for this router about 2 weeks ago and I haven't looked back since.
Other Thoughts: When using the Linksys firmware, the router would randomly restart when I would open programs such as iChat. I couldn't figure out why. The wireless also wasn't connecting well with my Macbook Pro.
I did a quick search on Google for WRT160Nv3 and found on the DD-WRT forums that somebody had made and released firmware specifically for this router. Wow, its like night and day. Now this router is actually usable and works flawlessly (and is fast!).
I had never upgraded firmware like this but it was fairly easy: download the mini pack and the standard pack from the FTP link posted in the forum. Go to the router address (192.168.1.1) and under admin, upgrade via the web update using the mini pack first. It will take a few minutes and will reboot the router. Then, use the 2nd downloaded file which is the standard edition (listed as WRT160v3 in the file name) and update the same way you did the first time (thru the web address) and voila, the update is complete!

Pros: Great speeds with pretty good range!! Noticable improvement over my ol 54g. Bought a refurbished model and it seems to work great for months, but....
Cons: A few months after the 90 day refurb warranty expired, the wired...not wireless...the wired connection to my desktop slowed down so much, I felt like I was back in the dial-up days!! Linksys support blows. If you are one day past your warranty, they want cash up front to help you for anything!! Anyway...
Other Thoughts: I have come to figure out on my own that after doing a firmare update when I first bought this thing, I should have did a master reset on this thing. Even though it resets automatically after the firmware update...you should do another one yourself, and then reconfigure everything if you are ever to run into this rare problem I seemed to have experienced.

WRT160Nv3 = GREAT w/ DD-WRT

Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: With router has a large amount of RAM(32mb) and an Average Flash(4mb). Processor is 300...
Overall this router is GREAT hardware... Linksys firmware(when updated) is stable enough for most people.
If you add DD-WRT to this router the power is GREAT I havent rebooted it for months and its still working like It was the first day I flashed it.
Range is Fantastic, 3 Level house and I only lose one bar downstairs (Router is Middle Floor) - Full bars every where else.
G Speed is Great, and N Speed is very stable and High both close and Long Range.
Supports Many Security Options and Even more with DD-WRT added.
Cons: Out of the box the firmware was horrible. Updated from Linksys and it fixed alot of the issues. had to reboot it once ever couple weeks...
Then DD-WRT supported the V3 and not ts GREAT.
Only 10/100 not 10/100/1000 but I knew this when I got it. Internet speed will stay the same for many people, Unless you have 100+mbs speed in witch case you shouldnt be looking at the Home version of Cisco, but the More expensive routers by cisco.
Dont Confuse with one with the 160N w/ USB port...
Other Thoughts: With DD-WRT installed on this router, You can make it do nearly anything you want it to do. The Hardware is GREAT, but its up to the Buyer to Update the Firmware...
For those who want to run DD-WRT on this Router, it was Just supported on 11/16/2009 - And already has a Standard release available. Very simple flash (Load Basic Mini Firmware, then Upgrade). Nearly impossible to Brick.
Overall I give this a 9.9/10 Stars. Fantastic Router.
