Pros: I purchased this on Sept 6th, 2011. The power light was flashing but I was still able to connect to the internet. I unplugged it little over a week later because I was going out of town. When I got back into town plugged my laptop back in I had nothing. Linksys was of no help, said my warranty was out in August, I gave the purchase date and they helped me by telling me to talk to the people I purchased it from. Never received a person when I called newegg. Returning it and getting something else.
Cons: Very easy setup, sits perfectly with my other equipment.

Rating: 1/5Hoped for a great deal.
Pros: easy setup. have worked with this model for years.
Cons: i purchase two for redundancy. both need to be power cycled numerous times throughout the day. it seems to have an issue holding the DNS information and requires a restart to regather the necessary information. sometimes multiple power cycles are needed for it to work.
Other Thoughts: $10 for a re-certified was a good deal, but, also, neither worked. the new BEFSR41s i've worked with have been working well for years. the re-certified version didn't cut it.

Rating: 1/5Why do I do this to myself?
Pros: No Pros, doesn't work.
Cons: Ran for 5 minutes then dead. Lights flashing away. Can't ping it, can't connect to it. Very disappointed. I should be able to install and setup without having to waste a bunch of my time on support, flashes, yadda yadda.

Rating: 4/5Linksys BEFSR41
Pros: I needed a router for my two Win7 systems and my friend gave me this router for free because he wasn't using it
Cons: It is Old, Used, a little slow and not wireless but hey it was free and now I don't have to reset my cable modem everytime I want to switch computers online. It works for my needs now and I am satisified with it.
Other Thoughts: It is used, probably around 10 years old or so and still works. Just goes to show you how good Linksys products are. Still working after all those years. Linksys makes some great products Good for now until I get a new wireless router.

Rating: 5/5Great deal
Pros: Low cost unit well suited for home or small office.. Has tons of features and flexable configuration.. Takes a licking and keeps on ticking.. Own several, got them when they were on special for just a few bucks..
Cons: Will not support a high volume high user count lan.. Do not buy this to supply web access to a large office setting it will become a bottleneck between racks.. But that should be a no brainer to any IT pro. anyway.. Web interface does not play well with Windows 7/64bit.. It will not display the pages completely at times..
Other Thoughts: I have many PCs with different operating systems so I use an XP box to setup and monitor this router.. Have bought several of these and have never had any issues.. You can use them as 4 port managed switches or create a seprate secure zone for your banking PC.. Did have one get spiked by lightning and go to the bit bucket in the sky so they are not indestructable.. You do have to know at least a bit about how networking works or be willing to research a bit..

Pros: Works great low latancy easy set up decent and easy advanced setups If you have no use for wireless then this is a great product.
Cons: Last 1 to 2 years like all routers I have owned and I have owned many
Other Thoughts: for the price you cant beat it im running 2 wireless linksys routers now one is to the piont of needing reset every day so ill be replacing it with one of these. I would still have one of these but when it fail last year walmart was closer and faster than ordering online.

Rating: 4/5Response to “High Hopes” re: AT&T
Pros: Inexpensive, does what it is supposed to. Pretty good basic router. I didn't find setup to be difficult. Cheap enough to keep one around as a spare if you can't afford network down time.
Cons: Every now and then stops doling out DHCP addresses and has to be reset.
Other Thoughts: I have two of these (keep one as a spare because two of us work at home and can not afford down time). They work fine with AT&T DSL modems (at least, the Westells). There are a couple of things that need to be done, if you haven't tried this already. 1) DSL modem needs to be in bridge modem. Look on AT&T's site to figure out how to set that in your modem. I'd recommend against calling AT&T tech support. Six calls will get you one person who can tell you anything without reading it from a script, including wanting you to go through more troubleshooting than is necessary. 2) In the basic setup of this router, you have to have the connection type as PPPoE. Then enter in your entire user name (including the @att.net, bellsouth.net or whatever your primary email address is) and the password. 3) You also want the connection to be kept alive.
I've been satisfied with these routers.

Rating: 3/5Flashing power light
Pros: fast delivery- came the next day. Was able to flash the firmware and un-brick it but haven't tested it yet.
Cons: came with corrupted firmware-- the power light was flashing. Someone failed to do their job and test the machine before shipping.
Other Thoughts: Found through linksys that the problem was corrupted firmware. After 2-3 hours of searching, finally found the tftp.exe that would allow the firmware to be flashed in the linksys forum, not in the linksys download section. Thankfully someone in the forum had the foresight to leave a productive link.

Rating: 5/5Great :D
Pros: Works great, Its been on since i got it about 3 months ago, and has yet to cut out, make a noise, or anything unpleasant. Interface is very easy to use.
Cons: Needs quite a lot of attention when first setting up a network.
Other Thoughts: Overall great, at first it needed a lot of tweaking and settings for this and that. Thankfully all my computers have the same OS, it seemed more complicated for multiple different OS to get along correctly.
