5 out of 5 eggsGets the job done

Pros: My laptop's old ethernet port is busted, so I got this. I'm happy with it and would recommend it. It is very lightweight. The activity light is sufficiently informative. The protective cap works to shield both the USB male and RJ45 female ports. The drivers are easy to find, but they are not even needed (works out of the box with Win7 and Fedora17). Overall, it adds ethernet capacity to my old laptop without adding nuisances, like weight, noises, clunky dubious drivers, etc.

Cons: Protective cap is easily lost

Other Thoughts: Minor heating when under heavy use; cable is weak-ish (it wont take much to damage it).

5 out of 5 eggsNo Complaints

Pros: It's cheap, it works. Isn't complicated to install/set-up.

Cons: Doesn't make toast. (None)

Other Thoughts: Bought this and had it shipped to a technologically challenged relative (I'm my family/extended family's IT department). The relative is your stereotypical older family member who never was taught much more than the basics of some data entry when it comes to computers.
They got it and were able to install it without any help from me (long distance phone assistance is so often challenging).
Oh, if I remember correctly lightning had hit a power line/telecom line near their house and apparently damaged the built in ethernet port of their computer.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Small and compact

Cons: Requires the driver to be installed. Windows 7 64bit does not automatically plug and play. You have to get the driver and install it.

Other Thoughts: I wish Windows would have the driver already so it would be plug and play.

5 out of 5 eggsLinksys USB300 - USB to NIC

Pros: Very easy to install in open USB port. is 2.0 compatible. came with install and setup instructions that worked just great. Shipping was faster than expected.

Cons: Drivers were outdated on the install disc. not sure if would have matter or not but went online and got newer and worked just fine.

Other Thoughts: Used this for a work Application to install on CNC equipment to hook them up on a network to monitor performance, efficiency, downtime, alarms etc. works just great. Was able to keep machine peripherals networked separate from data collection using this separate controller.

5 out of 5 eggsTransformer Prime

Pros: It was up and running in a minute on my ASUS Transformer Prime. Accessed the internet (via wireless), loaded the drivers, and automatically opened my 'Settings' tab to allow me to turn on 'Ethernet'. Great product for a tablet, especially when there's not a wireless connection to be found.

Cons: None.

4 out of 5 eggsAlso works with Toshiba Thrive

Pros: Works well with Windows 7 as it automatically loads drivers long as it already has internet connection.

I've used this with my Toshiba Thrive 10.1" tablet. Again it needs access to the internet to get the drivers installed. But once it's installed it works great.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsAs expected

Pros: Needed this to install a server version of Linux on a Shuttle XS-35. It installed by default. Now I keep it around for emergencies.

Cons: None that I have seen. But I have not put this item under any sort of stress.
