With dual-band wireless capabilities, the Linksys WET610N is ideal for wireless HD video streaming and gaming applications because entertainment content can be sent over the less crowded 5GHz spectrum, separating it from other network traffic that transmits in the 2.4GHz spectrum. Also, VoIP and video applications won't suffer from other network data demands thanks to the integrated QoS (quality of service) features that give signal priority to voice and video quality.

There's no driver to load and the web-based configuration utility makes it easy to get up and running. Physical installation is also simplified by Power Over Ethernet, enabling the WET610N to use a single Ethernet connection for both power and data, so there's no need to use the included power adapter if there are no nearby outlets.

As a number of top consumer electronics manufacturers bring to market Ethernet-enabled products, you need a high-performance wireless solution that enables access the most demanding content and applications. The WET610N wireless bridge from Linksys may be the answer. It connects to any Ethernet-enabled device, be it your set top box, game console, computer or whatever your want to add high-speed Wireless-N connectivity for on-demand broadcast, online gaming, or media streaming throughout the home.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: Easy setup signed into the device with the default admin set my ip manually, configured my laptop NIC, resigned in set the security put the device into the network. Plugged the bridge into the power at the TV and setup the TV all in less than 30 minutes. Too Easy.

1 out of 5 eggsdon't bother

Pros: looks nice

Cons: automatic settings are not encrypted. can't set the settings manually.

Other Thoughts: Thought i'd buy this with a cisco/linksys router and they would function well together. i was wrong. the auto settings are for not secured wifi and the supposed manual settings don't exist (yes i tried, called to no avail). Do yourself a favor and spare yourself this nightmare. 4 wasted hours and 81$ down the drain. going to get something else. anything else.

tl;dr no encryption on network. don't bother

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Everything!! I went from a Linksys Wireless-G Network to a Wireless-N Network and it improved my overall functionality. My PS3 went from 1.5mbps to just over 4mbps on my PS3. This was a great improvment, but when I added this nice little Gaming Bridge.... ooohhh hell!! It more that boubled again. I now get 9.1mbps to 9.5mbps!

It is super easy to set up and only takes about 20 minutes.

Cons: Couldn't find a pretty girl to install it for me.

Other Thoughts: The only other thought I can think of is: If you have a wireless-G system, don't just go buy an N-Bridge and expect major results. It will increase your Console, but only marginally. The reason behind this is, with a G network, the Bridge would only work in G. The only benifit is greater distance and stronger signal strength. Buy both and reap the real benifits.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Bridge

Pros: Easy to set up, fantastic and seamless operation.

Cons: Only has one port on the back of it.

Other Thoughts: Be sure to pick up a wired switch to take care of any other ports that you would need.

4 out of 5 eggsit's a bridge

Pros: It's a bridge it works

Cons: Why did I not just built a dd-wrt router again?

Other Thoughts: I guess I was just too lazy to build another dd-wrt router.

1 out of 5 eggsCisco loses customer

Pros: Product works relatively well, aside from customization required to connect to networks using WPA2 encryption.

Cons: The maker is a censorship and human rights violation enabler, supporting various autocracies (as well as a few "democracies") in their efforts in that regard.

Other Thoughts: Cisco loses another customer. They won't ever get it until it starts hurting their wallets... ethics does indeed influence buying decisions. Pity, since I needed five of them.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Bridge for Gaming and Entertainment Ever!

Pros: Easy set up via web interface. I bought this unit in anticiaption of getting the new E4200 series from Linksys/Cisco, so I used it with my old D Link gaming router DGL-4300 and DGL -4500 and DGL-3420 Wireless 108AG gaming bridges. All bridges worked well but the weak links were the routers. So I went to the DGL-4500 (Meh).
Hooked the WET610N up to my new E4200 and have NEVER had a problem since. The Bridge is hooked up to my TV-Xbox where we stream Netflix constantly (goodbye Cable)
There is over 30ft and 2 Walls between the router and this bridge. Signal N strength is great.
We had problems before with everyone in the house on the network (2 computers and 2 laptops - 2 bridges Xbox etc) We have NONE now. E4200 router running dual band G and N wireless networks. I am amazed! (finally)

Cons: Found out later there is a 4 port version of this unit! I will be grabbing this one too.

Other Thoughts: Its not the prettiest thing in my entertainment center but I believe that because of the way it sits it gives the best rerception possible.

1 out of 5 eggsWARNING: Should not buy

Pros: When it works, it does its job

Cons: Known issues with using WPA2-PSK encryption. Connection drops often (at least once an hour, sometimes once every 10-15 minutes!). This is a common problem with this device and requires you disable encryption altogether to get around (BAD!) or else drop to a lower form of encryption which also lowers your speeds back to G/B levels!

UI is also really slow and takes 2 minutes for every page you push ok on...

It's also an ugly design thats not even wall mountable.

Linksys wants you to use it as a table decoration?

5 out of 5 eggsNo complaints at all

Pros: Easy and extremely simple install. Plugged in and within 5 mins had everything working and streaming netflix in HD with no problems over wireless G. Runs cool and well worth the money.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Works very well with the Linksys 10/100 switch for multiple items. Getting the new E4200 Router and should work even better.
