2 out of 5 eggsVery directionally challenged

Pros: Interface is what is expected. I like routers that have diagnostic tools (ping/trace) build into them.

Cons: VERY directional. If your receiving computer is looking at the router's edge ping times and lost packets will be very high.

Other Thoughts: I don't actually own this router. I was asked to troubleshoot why our software wasn't working at this school. I checked and found that when pinging the router they would loose packets or get 2000-4000ms reply times. Router was directly upstairs and was mounted on the wall. They took it off and set it flat on the floor so more of the internal antenna would be facing the computers and the ping times dropped to an average of 11 ms. The router wasn't more than 20 feet away. Take antenna orientation into account if you use this router.

1 out of 5 eggsCisco sucks,

Pros: Compact design

Cons: Signal kept dropping and running hot most of time. Download speed when tested is slower than other cheaper/non brand name router. One would think Cisco being a network company would make a good or at least decent router. WRONG!!! Way to ruin your company reputation, Cisco! Avoid their product people.

1 out of 5 eggs99% failure

Pros: none

Cons: dropped connection daily. did everythig to fix it .
MTU value, B G and mixed signal, reloading multiple drivers for it to work with my printers. in other words NO WIRELESS FIDELITY. HIGHLY UNRELIABLE NOT WORTH even the 20$ i paid for it. i think its a scam that they advertise you are getting a deal by saving 60-70
% off. only good thing was the experience with newegg that they took it back. i had saved the packaging. you should too and return it

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: CHEAP! Got it for $19.99 on Cyber Monday.

Glossy Black
Wireless N

Cons: Comes with CD?? lol
Couldn't pull an IP for NOTHING until I flashed the bios.

Other Thoughts: I bought this as something to replace my old wireless n router that recently died. I just wanted something cheap.

When I first installed it, I couldn't get it to pull a 192.168 IP for anything. I finally plugged my PC in to port #2 and it gave me an IP and I was able to access the router admin page. I immediately flashed the bios and haven't had a problem since.

My desktop is wired, and my wife uses wireless.
She has had no problems staying connected and is happy to be online again.

1 out of 5 eggsKills installed OS

Pros: It's shiny

Cons: Refuses to actually recognize when the router is attached. Included software proceeded to completely destroy my windows install, costing me upwards of $200 to have the system checked and reformatted.

Other Thoughts: Avoid this one like the plague, since it seems to like to sit there and eat windows alive. Great job Cisco. Used to like your product, now that it's trying to kill my newly built computer I don't think I will touch your worthless overpriced an shiny routers again. I would have other choice words, but newegg apparently sensors their submissions.

2 out of 5 eggswireless sucks

Pros: The blue lights won,t blind you.

Cons: If you get it to connect wirelessly it is really slow, like 6mbs with a windows 7 computer 20 ft away and one interior wall. Can get 15 to 18 mbs on a windows XP laptop setting 2 ft away with no obstructions. This is with a 48 to 54 mbs feed from a new Motorola cable modem that if wired directly really makes my equipment fly.

Other Thoughts: If you don't need wireless connectivity the $20.00 is about right. It almost works for wireless but if you are paying for higher speeds with cable you will not like this thing. wont be disapointed when it bricks and am forced to get something else.

4 out of 5 eggsCheap. Works.

Pros: Inexpensive
Smallish footprint
No external antenna

Cons: Shipped with 3 year old firmware
Wireless speeds aren't the fastest
Cannot run DD-WRT
Runs a bit warm

Other Thoughts: Even after reading all the bad reviews here, I purchased this router to replace an 8 year old Netgear at my father's house because the WRT120N is cheap and cute. It had problems assigning network settings via DHCP until I upgraded the firmware from 1.0.04 to 1.0.07. Since then it has performed well in a decidedly undemanding environment--3 wireless clients sharing a 4 Mb/s internet connection. Coverage is decent in a 3,200 sq. foot house, and I'm not aware of any dropped connections or reboots.

I suspect heat issues might shorten the hardware lifespan, but for the moment it's working reliably. I cannot comment on the bundled software; I didn't install it.

1 out of 5 eggsAwful

Pros: Wish I could give it zero eggs instead of one. Been a Linksys fan forever but this cisco router really makes me wonder why Linksys would do something this stupid to a pretty decent reputation for routers.

Cons: Horrible disconects. have to reboot it constantly.
This thing is not worth the trouble even if they gave it to you for free.

Other Thoughts: I would avoid anything with CISCO named on it forever. Cheap junk but wow it sure is shiny and neato blue blinking lights
