2 out of 5 eggsAvoid this router

Pros: Price.

Cons: Unreliable.

Other Thoughts: Had this router for 5 months now. Worked great until two weeks ago. Since then I have had to restart it (unplug) multiple times a day. I have contacted the manufacturer about it once already and all they had me do was tweak a few settings. My product is still under warranty so I'm hoping to get it replaced soon -- but you have to go through the motions with them before they will do that. At any rate, hoping to get it replaced by an updated model that won't have the same issues. VERY FRUSTRATING.

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid this product

Pros: Worked great for about a month and a half.

Cons: Recently this router began needing reboots multiple times a day to even function. Sometimes it will work for 10 minutes, sometimes 12 hours, but at least one or two times a day it has to be rebooted. The firmware is the latest, it has been reset multiple times, it's even been placed on desks, wallmounted, and turned on it's side in case it was a heat issue with no luck.

Other Thoughts: This router replaced an extremely old WRT54G which I had happily for many years. I am a big fan of cisco and always had great luck with linksys until this product. I've seen many reviews here and other places talking about the same problem with these routers, please just avoid buying this and buy another product.

2 out of 5 eggsOk while it lasted

Pros: Easier to setup the older dlink and linksys routers I have setup before
Router was setup on day on and ran for almost 9 month never had to reboot or nothing
supports newer secuirty levels not held in older models
cheap when I got it on sale for 39.99
like always newegg was great with shipping and recieved product promptly

Cons: Arround the 9 month period I woke up saw my computer was no longer downloading. checked to see and router is rebooting itself in a constant loop and unable to fix in either recovery mode 30/30/30 reset nothing was able to resolve it. Router is now dead seemingly and needs releplacement only about 8-9 months after purchase where my wrt54g and gs models over 3 - 4 years old working great still and one with dd-wrt which this router does not support

3 out of 5 eggsAmazingly... So far.. So good

Pros: CHEAP. After reading numerous scathing reviews, the original owner actually GAVE this device to me. Firmware upgrade a snap. Setting up WEP security through the Linksys utility was easy.

Cons: The router does run hot to the touch. I have the router raised up a bit as the extra height is provided by four added rubber feet so that more air can pass easily underneath the unit for ventilation. Perhaps heat is the cause of all the earlier negative reviews?

Other Thoughts: The prior owner of my WRT120N reported NOTHING but trouble with this router. I reset the device to factory defaults/original firmware Version 1.0.01 using the reset button. I had no problem downloading the bin file for the newest firmware from October of last year... 2009. Firmware Version 1.0.04. Upgrading using the Linksys firmware upgrade utility went easily.
There are reports that this latest firmware doesn't support typical "N" router speeds. "G" speeds at best. I've never measured the wireless speed after the firmware upgrade. I running for a week now with the new firmware. All four wired devices are connecting. My iPhone 4G would not connect using the default wireless Auto Channel 6 setting. So I changed the broadcast channel to Channel 1 and the iPhone connects.
I was really prepared to slam this device with a one star review. However, so far I have nothing to complain about. Still, after all the bad reviews I'll not likely be buying another one of these.

1 out of 5 eggsAbsolute junk!

Pros: Looks cool, small, light weight. It has 4 ports.

Cons: This router drops off and reboots for no reason that I can even figure out. I have search the Linksys forums for a solution to the problem and the only thing I found was other people with the same problem and zero help from Linksys. This product has been discontinued from what I can tell too. That means no more support or firmware to make any attempts to help their customers.

Other Thoughts: I bought this router because I trusted Linksys and I was looking for a router with 'N' speeds for the two new netbooks in our house that were 'N' capable. This isn't even a fully compliant 'N' router and there were so many problems with this router all I want is my money back. I just wish I had discovered all the problems within the 30 day return (purchased from local store not Newegg.com - I wish I had purchased from Newegg.) I have to go back to my trusty WRT54G Linksys router. At least that one works consistently! Linksys needs to fix the problems with this router instead of just dumping it and screwing their customers. If you can't fix it - admit it and give us a refund or a credit towards a new, working, model!

1 out of 5 eggsCheeply made peice of junk

Pros: NewEgg shipped it quickly.

Cons: It died after 4 months of use. It started dropping connections and finally just bricked up.

My old Linksys rans for years. This thing is just trash. I used to only use Linksys routers. This was the router that
made me buy a Netgear.

Other Thoughts: NewEgg - 5 stars

Linksys - 0

1 out of 5 eggsAnnoying for 5 months then died.

Pros: Looks sleek.

Cons: It died after 5 months. During that time it dropped my connection, had to be reset multiple times, and generally was a huge pain to work with.

Other Thoughts: It's not even Draft n certified. I wish I had gone for something else. This one isn't worth the hassle of reconfiguring it every month. It seemed to work fine when it worked, but it would drop my connection fairly often. I bought it in a store and I should have returned it months ago.

2 out of 5 eggsWouldn't Buy Again!

Pros: Looks good & works(?), & the price is right w/ FREE SHIPPING!

Cons: This poor child doesn't like to stay in service. I've reset & configured the foolish thing a half dozen times. Buy this if you like to play with your gear!

Other Thoughts: I have trouble sharing files from my Mac to PC network. Never had problems before w/ my previous Linksys G router(I read the MaxPC review and realize this is hardly an "N" box!)
