2 out of 5 eggsIt worked for awhile.

Pros: B/G/N wireless

Cons: Dropped connections many times, power cycled
Hit by lightning and died

Other Thoughts: Had to power cycle this router a few times. It finally died while we were away from the house, I'm guessing from a storm. It gave us an excuse to put DD-WRT on a WRT54G and run that rather smoothly, as my experiences show.

3 out of 5 eggs4months of awesome and then dead

Pros: Cheap and while it ran it was a great router

Cons: It only lasted for 4 months

Other Thoughts: I got this router to replace my parents' old one which had a horrible interface and it kept kicking them off the network. It was easy to install and while it was running it was a great little router especially for the price.
Unfortunately it died after 4 months of usage. The blue LED turns on when you connect the power but it does not do anything else after that. Can't connect to the web interface or even ping it. Can't expect too much for just $28 and a refurb, but I was hoping for more from Cisco. I own a lot of Cisco hardwre and i use it at work and haven't had one fail on me yet but they were all purchased new so i think that's the way to go in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Value

Pros: Easy set up, good range and speed

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Really not much else to say. If you need a basic N router for a garden variety setup, this is a good router for you.

4 out of 5 eggsBasic N Router, great price

Pros: Not one piece of evidence that this is a Refurb. Looks just like you pulled it of the shelf new; packaging and everything.

For the price, I can't complain too much about an n/g wireless router. It's not the most powerful out there, but those are $150 more. Nice if you're just setting up your first network.

Cons: It's not a good wireless neighbor.

Instructions are junk, and the included disc for "easy setup" failed constantly. No where does it give the IP to manually configure the device, and the website's help pretty much just gives you the same crummy "easy configure" application to run. How about just tell me the IP, default account/password, and let me go on from there.

If you follow the directions perfectly (paper and in the app), it will NEVER work. Sticker says don't connect cables and to run the CD/app first. The app tells you to plug the router to the modem using the internet port. Ok...click next and it begins to try and find the router which it can not. See the issue here? Um, I haven't connected to my PC yet so good luck finding it Cisco.

Yeah you can get it up knowing that Linksys uses "admin/blank" and plug into a port to set it up at 192.168.1.1, but not everyone knows that and is not documented with the product.

Other Thoughts: Not sure if it's a used unit that got returned or if it's a piece that failed in-house and got fixed, but sure doesn't look used to me at all.

Flash it to DD-WRT and go from there.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: It has surprisingly good signal strength throughout my house - which is 100 years old and made of bricks - so in your average suburban home I would imagine this would have fantastic range. Setup was easy... seems to be working so far.

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: Cheapest router at best buy was 50 and it was essentially what this router is. Go for this.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great!

Pros: Works wonderfully with multiple wireless devices (ps3 WII Android's PSP), network storage/print/backup server, a few wired pc's, an xbox 360 that are on my 16 port network switch. Network speeds are average for 100Meg connection, nothing to brag or complain about.

Cons: Not gigabit

Other Thoughts: Buy this router, will not disappoint, but if network transfer speed is a must, spring for this router's big brother and get gigabit.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works and it works well.

Pros: Accepts DD-Wrt, which is my main reason for buying it. Flashing was simple and it just worked. I was a little hesitant it was a refurb but it seems to be running like a champ.

Also it was packaged well and survived UPS very obviously man handling the heck out of it (Box looked like someone played kickball with it).

Cons: Nothing? It's a cheap router that runs custom firmware and works..... It has limited memory so the web interface feels a bit laggy but for the price who am I to complain.
